Beautifully finished. What photoetch set did you use?

Great job on the rigging as well, it really sets off the result.

Alan

Thank you!
I used various pieces from different brands.
Flyhawk: gun barrels, ladder
Rainbow model: radar, funnel cap, doors,

Five stars model: Railing

Lionroar: railing, depth charge racks, AA guns
AKA model: handrail
Various size of brass rods/pipes

Very nice build Nanond.

Your before and after picture poses the question - how did you do such a neat paint job on the deck with everything pre built?

Cheers

Michael

Thank you Michael. I hand-painted the deck with a small brush using Vallejo model color. The paint covers the surface very well and dries to give a smooth surface. That was much easier than masking the deck.

Hi Nanond,

Nice to see a surface ship in this forum! And an excellent one it is too. Beautifully built and painted. Better than many twice this scale.

Rearguards,

Badder. (Popping over momentarily from the Dark Side)

Hello Nanond,

A pleasure to study your excellent finish of this IJN destroyer.

Indeed, as mentioned above, we are talking he 1/700 scale. Amazing.

Regards, Orion / The Netherlands.

That is a lovely looking ship. At 1:700, amazing work!!  Can you tell us how long the finished model is?

inspiring!!

Thank you! This is new Tamiya kit and it did not take me a long time to build. I think it took about 10 hours for building and detailing. However, that does not include another 10 hours I spent attaching handrail on the torpedo and gun turrets. Those were a real pain. Painting was quick. I finished in 2 weekends, 3-4 hours of working time per day.
