perdu
The cuff, young man, is the aerodynamic fairing which covers some of the moving parts of the rotor blade roots On naval aircraft at least the fairings are cut away at strategically useful places to allow blade folding at the proper time and place Most Merlin photos will show the devices attached round the blade roots Big chuffing grey things usually, on the nautical ones I've not studied the green ones yet... Well first I got this And when I lifted the mould off I got this The heat removed the milliput former out of the kit moulding And shows why it would have been folly to attempt using the kit moulding on a decent model Can you see how deep those mould ejectors are? Never remove them in a month of Sundays But look how well prewarmed PETg has taken to the process, no included bubbles at all as far as I can see I am going to redo the moulding again in .22 mm acetate too, to see how far the new heater can push the process Fun this isn't it I'm going to ask a newbie question, why did you have to create a new front end/canopy? If one intends to detail even slightly a cockpit one prefers not to have huge unwanted dollops of clearish polystyrene jumping out into vision The ejectors were plain as your face on the front screens Hate 'em I does, hate 'em

perdu
Andy I found the best thing was to copy prototypical design I moulded skins to fit over the rotor head fastenings like the real things Mine could have done with a little more bigness but did the trick on the model, especially as there were cut outs to make for the blade fold clearances 2

perdu
Declaring this a disaster of minimal proportions Lots of megatidying to perform, dammit And this is even worserer I mean Lookit the state of that! andyf117
Well, I did of course suspect you really meant one of these: Though it's not actually as old as one of these: The first Sea Knight flew some months before the first Belvedere...
perdu
Scratched my Sea Knight itch a few years ago with an Airfix one folded and painted in the 'new' dark green with toned down black markings, all very seventies But now as you may surmise I seek information referring to the inside front and back walls on the Belvedere So little available info you would think that maybe the military want to expunge it from their memory.. Go figure

perdu
You'd think some beggar would have pictures of the front and rear bulkheads taken during hundreds of flights But no, just that meagre box structure at the back from inside Derrr! Terry1954
Cheer up Bill. I don't think I've ever been able to move on from a first proper coat without a couple iterations of clean up, and that's not counting the times I have tidied and re-done the primer "phase". A break and beer will make all the difference! As for the Belvedere, now that will be something to behold. @andyf117's picture is very inspiring!
