Looking through pics of Soviet/Russian Su-27, it seems there are two main camo versions, a pale, light toned one and this more dark and "juicy" one. Already curious how it looks when my dad starts with the upper camo and applies the grey and blue paints.

Reini78
painted the area in front of the gun when removing the masks some paint, especially the AK Real Color (which tend to do that), came off, so some reworking neccessary... Duncan B
Great progress on a kit I have in the stash but have been put off building due to it being a lot bigger than anything I have made in the past. Having watched your Dad's build so far I am really tempted to get mine out and give it a go. I know there are some accuracy issues that real Flanker fans would pick up on but it looks like a real fun kit to build. Duncan B

But it looks like a Flanker, has better detail than the Academy kit and is easier to build than a GWH kit. Plastic and moulds are good, therefore my dad chose the HB kit.
Parabat
Like Duncan, this kit is rising rapidly to the forefront of kits to be built. Sorry about the paint lifting, hopefully an easy fix.

Reini78
Started with the decals, the loosen nicely from the carrier sheet but seem to be very thin because they tend to wrap, even the small ones. Maybe gonna need some spare decals, using a Hi-Decal sheet. DSC_0001 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr also started to build the rockets, won´t do a full weapons load DSC_0002 by grimreaper110, auf Flickr
Parabat
That's coming along well, Hobby Boss decals are really not that great to work with. Sometimes the decal will work perfectly, other times it will wrap or stick like a limpet in a place it shouldn't be. Experience makes me just invest in AM decals for HB kits these days.
