All these old sub surface sea dogs lurking below the surface coming out of the the woodwork, I think I can hear a sea shanty in the background................🎶

Very nice progress on sorting that seam.

Progress....

Rear rudder & dive planes, propshafts, conning tower, forward diving planes and sonar dome attached - under a final coat of primer.......

The rudder and dive planes are cast as one item - with 'working' dive planes. The prop shafts were a bit fiddly due to my fat fingers......

Ready for the top coat........

... which can be any colour.....

.... as long as it's BLACK!.....

Actually I'm going to use my favourite black - Halford's Volvo Dark Grey.

Plus I'm going to attempt at modelling HMS Opossum - with topside camouflage and a 'sharks mouth'.....

A little more progress........ I've sprayed it from a rattle can of Halfords Volvo Dark Grey........

.... which to my mind makes a perfect black in this scale.

Maybe this is why there aren't many kits of Royal Navy submarines - they are quite bland, possibly even boring??

It just needs the camouflage pattern hand-painting to add a splash of colour...

It's a bit too hot at the moment to do any modelling - I'm going for a lie down!

This is the look I'm going for.......

With, maybe this sharkmouth...... (i've only found this one photo - which I think is Opossum?)....

Any input on the sharksmouth would be welcome......

I would say they look stealthy and purposeful, and she's looking great.

I may have to get a can of that Volvo Dark Grey and see how it looks against my usual Halfords Satin Black.
