modelling minion
That didn't take long Werner! Looks like an F-1 already, and certainly seems to be a good fitting kit. Nice work my friend.

Mitsubishi really should have christened this a ‘Japuar’ 😁 Edited August 1, 2019 by Dansk 1

modelling minion
By the looks of things you will be getting some paint on her over the weekend Werner. I know you did some work whilst waiting for your PE to arrive but this really has taken shape very quickly.
stevej60
Look's to be an interesting build Werner I'll tag along,I've always liked the look of these "Jaguaresque" aircraft and who doesn't like some of these Japanese schemes applied?
modelling minion
Hi Werner, any more movement on your F-1? She should be close to getting some paint on by now.

Somehow I do not trust myself in mixing my own shades from Revell colors in this case... Edited September 5, 2019 by exdraken
modelling minion
Never used their enamels I'm afraid Werner so can't help with that one. I know they do specific JASDF ones in the acrylic range.

My hobby boss intruder is similar,i also remember the hb f-111was too they seemed to be designed to be open or flaps and slats out as in the intruder and 111,and need fettling to fit nice closed , as i understand the 48th revell tonka gr4 is mostly like this too, i save brassin foam and cut a bit bigger to fit in the holes when parts are like that, looking forward to the paint scheme werner
modelling minion
Great to see that your paints have arrived Werner. As Glynn says the airbrakes not closing shouldn't be a problem for painting, just put a piece of foam or Blutak inside and it will stop the colour getting in.
exdraken
last update before painting starts cockpit minus seat finished, gun nozzle added, tailcone added, airbrakes blu-tacked thanks! exdraken
the tape looks exacty the same as the sand color...... in general it looks a bit light, but let's wait for the 2 green tones....
modelling minion
Great job Werner. Don't worry about the sand being too light as it is quite a light sand colour on the real aircraft and I'm sure it will look good with the 2 greens on, you have got a nice smooth coat with it. exdraken
more masking... probably should have done the brighter green before.... 'cause it could have resulted in less masking....
modelling minion
Coming along really nicely Werner, good job on the masking and the green looks like it's gone on very smoothly. I need to pull my finger out and get some paint on my F-104.
stevehnz
Looking good Werner, I've not taken much notice of these before but I do have a soft spot for the look of Jaguars & F.1s & before I knew it, there was a 1/72 one of these in my HLJ warehouse. exdraken
look what arrived today! definitely late..... but hopefully not too late now.. what to use and hang underneath ??? some more info and photos here: https://www.midwaysailor.com/photos/mitsubishi-f1.html from photos and internet text I'd say Aim-9s on the wing tips: during the the late 80ies the F1 was upgraded and could carry the Aim-9L modells.. before B models? Hasegawa itself states B and E models, but provides L/ Ms..... no idea..... Edited October 18, 2019 by exdraken
