exdraken
next project, after thinking quit a lot of what to do in this GB, with some help I decided on this stash occupant: and as hurrying a bit with starting threads is welcome ---> @modelling minion here it is! without further ado: contents: and quick start typical Hasegawa, very clean, but brittle plastic, quite good fit! also looks a bit like a Mirage F1, not only like a Jaguar!.... never notice before! I ordered some resin improvement, absolutely newly released wheels and engines from Reskit from Hobbyeasy, as well as PE for the cockpit from Beaver Corporation (hlj), looks a lot like Eduard actually! Improved seats would be nice, but maybe the PE seatbelts will do! who knows which decals (Squadron is suitable for a 1980s era build? Thanks! modelling minion
Well done Werner, I knew a bit of gentle poking would get you to commit . Sounds like you have got some nice aftermarket goodies heading your way for the build. As for which squadron and markings to finish her in have a look at this link :- http://nabe3saviation.web.fc2.com/explanatione-fr.html It very conveniently has the dates that the pictures were taken next to them, and there are a couple of special schemes that fit the dates of the GB! Good luck with your build mate. Craig. 1
exdraken
wow! that is a great link! seems that all 3 squadrons can be built using kit decals! 3rd, 6th and 8th! Edited July 8, 2019 by exdraken

exdraken
What would the pease focused JASDF mount on their mounts? Sidewinders(which mark) ok, tanks, ok.... but? Mk82s?
Corsairfoxfouruncle
From the Wiki. Page on the F.1. " Armament Guns: 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) JM61A1 Vulcan 6-barreled Gatling cannon Hardpoints: One centerline, four underwing and two wingtip missile rails Bombs: Various bombs, air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles and rocket pods on four underwing, two wingtip, and one underfuselage pylon. Weapons carried include AIM-9 Sidewinder, Mitsubishi AAM-1, Mitsubishi Type 80 Air-to-Ship Missile/Type 93 Air-to-Ship Missile anti-ship missiles, JLAU-3A 70 mm rocket pods, RL-7 70 mm rockets, RL-4 125 mm rockets, Mk-82 500 lb and M117 750 lb bombs, and GCS-1, IR-guided versions of the Mk-82 and M117." so pretty much both home designed as well as U.S. designed stores. Corsairfoxfouruncle
If you really want to bomb it up Hasegawa make a JASDF Weapon set ? If nothing else maybe it will give you some ideas. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/has36010.htm Dennis Edited July 10, 2019 by Corsairfoxfouruncle

I ordered PE from Japan (HLJ).... so I hope it will turn out ok ... got my order confirmation today hobbyeasy sen that already some days ago! so lets see which little package turn up quicker! started some paint work I can currently do, like white for all the bays, and some base grey in the cockpit.... as I am doing a F-4 in the concurrent Phantoms GB, some synergies here after all the F-1 is kind of a mini Phantom in many aspects! (in length not THAT mini) maybe I should make some comparison pictures Edited July 12, 2019 by exdraken

modelling minion
Interesting comparison shots Werner, there really isn't much difference between the two of them length wise is there.
exdraken
gut some goodies from Hobbyeasy yesterday! not sure if the wheels are really worth it, the kit ones are not really worse in detail. maybe sou safe some cleanup work, and depending on fit they are easier to paint.... the nozzles on the other hand look rather nice! some quick shots after cutting them from their pouring blocks: those are afterburning Adour engines, similar to the ones in the Jaguar. (also available from RESKIT by the way)
modelling minion
Those exhausts do look rather nice Werner, much better than the kit ones.
Dansk
Looking forward to this build. I never understood why people bought aftermarket resin exhaust nozzles until spending 8 million hours trying to get my segmented plastic fulcrum kit ones to play nicely, so now i can completely understand! particularly with the detail improvement too and yours look super!
exdraken
so, my order form HLJ showed up today you can seen, one too much... I do not even have a twoseater yet.... looks a lot like Eduard PE even has its name on the envelope! self adhesive, should not pose any problems I assume!

Hewy
Nice job werner , I've never heard of that make of pe before, do they make it only for japanese subjects, or is it a popular choice for all major models over there in japan, How does it compare price wise from the eduard etch

Quite a lot available mostly for Japanse subjects, safe the F-14....: https://hlj.com/search/go?w=*&af=selectmanufacturer:beavercorporation not sure if it is exactly the same, would need to cross check with Eduard offerings! closed the fuselage late yesterday evening: good fit, no real issues: 3
