I have posted a photo of this model in another thread, but never in RFI. I built it a few years ago, soon after the kit was released. As far as I can remember, the only things that I added, apart from kit stowage, were the missing rivets on each side of the hull, and the canvas dust cover around the main gun from tissue soaked in dilute PVA glue. I had previously built a 1/72nd kit of the Grant from a Polish company, whose name escapes me, and I used the painting instructions from that kit for this build. The base colour was sprayed, but the brown cammo was brush painted, as was the white surround. The black was applied with a paint pen.

One other thing that I've just remembered is hat the tracks (WE210), came from a Dragon Sherman lll kit.

Thanks for looking.

excellent work. i have that kit in my stash and i hope it turns out as good as yours

Thanks Stephen. Yes, even with the newer kits from Miniart, the Academy one is not bad, but make sure that it's not the very early one with the incorrect suspension.

I like it, painting & weathering look good & it's nicely cluttered.

I did a Monogram one years ago, 1/32 I seem to remember.

Pete

Thanks Pete. Yes, I think that it was 1/32nd.

Lovely build on that John, the camo scheme sets it off well, maybe even helps to hide the Grants ungainly lines a bit. :)

Steve.

Many thanks Steve. Certainly was an ungainly, big target.

Nice work. I like the scheme too.

But, if I may, the canvas cover over the 75mm extended some way onto the cast casemate and there was a line of snaps onto which it fitted. As you have it, the gun could not traverse.

I would post a photo but Imgur have stopped their mobile site in favour of an app - which I can't fathom.

Not beyond rectifying as the new cover would be larger and cover the old one.
