madcat911
It's been a while. Time for an update. Fuselage has been buttoned up and wings added. I made the tail assemblies removable to ease painting later. Mark
Hook
Looking good. Nice work filling those wings-to-fuselage seams! Cheers, Andre
modelling minion
That really has come together since your last update! Looks like you've done an excellent job on assembling the fuselage and wings, all the joints look nice and smooth. Nice idea keeping the tail assemblies removable, as you say it should make painting them a lot easier.
madcat911
Masked the windshield and canopy today. Did both the outside and inside. Mark

madcat911
Today's update. Got the Eagle primed. Sprayed the hot areas silver. Then masked them off in preparation for camouflage painting. Mark
modelling minion
That is a lovely smooth coat of primer and shows what a good job of the assembly you did. The metal areas look excellent Mark, which paint have you used for the metallic paint?

madcat911
Small update for today. Improved the kit AIM-7F Sparrows by adding the TDD sensors on the noses. They were made from 0.2mm placard. Mark
modelling minion
A nice addition that most of us (myself included) would probably miss.
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Very shiny exhaust section Mark! Interesting that you are modding the Sparrows, I would never have thought to check their accuracy.
madcat911
Some progress this week. I had a choice of using the Hasegawa kit nozzles or a spare set from a Revell F-15E. My understand is that it was around the early 80s when the Eagles started losing their turkey feathers so either set of cans could work. Decided on the Revell set in the end as they were a lot better detailed. Here they are after painting and weathering. I may add some oils to them at a later time. modelling minion
I can see why you chose to use the Revell cans over the original kit ones, they are in a different league! Great job on painting them Mark, you have really brought out the details.
exdraken
Nice progress! Revell nozzles are a good choice detailwise!
madcat911
Looks like I have to put this one on the back burner. The boss of my local hobby shop passed me a pre-production copy of the new Tamiya P-38F/G and requested that I complete it before the production kits hit the market. I’ll try to finish the Lightning build ASAP and get back to the Eagle before the deadline if possible. Mark
modelling minion
Sorry to hear that your Eagle is going on the back burner Mark but I understand why. Interested in how the P-38 turns out though.
Eduard Pavlik
Hello Mark. I saw the process of building HAs. F-15C in 1/48 scale. What is the state of construction at this time. I decide between Hasegawa PT49 and GWH C. I have an update complete cokpit + engine Aries resin and Decal ANG Oregon. Thx for your info. Edward, Czech Republic.
