More done today. Panel wash on (Flory Models 'dark dirt' with a blob of washing up liquid):

Left on for about 40 minutes then removed the excess. I left some wash on in a few areas to make it look a bit grubby. Moving on, I sprayed on some Tamiya Smoke across the model in random areas, before adding a drop of orange to the mixture and weathering the undersides.

Once the flat coat is on, I'll add some oils and pigments to complete the weathering.

More soon.

Coming alive!

Thanks for the wonderful build log -- great photo-journal.

Thanks Gene, glad you like it.

Flat coat went on earlier today then I added some more weathering to the undersides before adding the landing gear, FOD inserts, fuel tanks and ordnance. I know it was rare for the F to be loaded with 3x AIM-120 but the addition of the forward looks better and covers up a small join line that I missed . The stabilisers were a pain to get to sit correctly and took a lot of fiddling.

Hoping to get a few odds and ends done on the upper fuselage tomorrow - antenna, pitot tube etc. A bit more weathering up top then the addition of the canopy should see it completed.

More soon.

Wow!

Great weathering!

And nice to see a fully loaded F-4F!

On QRA I think they only  had 2 Aim-9s..... wonder how many Amraams the Luftwaffe actually had /has!

Thanks Werner. I've only seen a few pictures of armed F-4Fs and some had 4x AIM-9 others, as you say, only had the pair! I'm sure there's plenty of AMRAAM for the Typhoon fleet!

All in all i like your Phantom, but i think since you made the dark wash, the model is a bit to dark now, or maybe thats the bad lights in your room.

What do you think? I dont want attack you , its just my 50 cent, thats why i hope you dont mad with me.

Sorry mate, missed your post. It must have been the lighting in the room, it's lighter in the flesh!

She looked pretty dark with the gloss coat, but she really looks great now!!

Congrats!!!!

Maybe a bit to heavy loaded, but still a beauty!!

Cheers Alex. I know it's not a 'standard' load, but I think it looks good!
