Harrier GR1 1973-4 period

Recommended Posts

I am researching a 3 Sqn Harrier GR1 (like this one https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1639449) ). The ejection seat warning triangle has some extra words in smaller letters below the usual "EJECTION SEAT" text. Can anyone enlighten me as to why or what it might say please? It doesn't look like any of the other stencilling is duplicated in German (as it was on RAFG Jaguars and Tornadoes).

as above, it was to warn of the explosive element of MDC in the canopy.

It later (it seems to me into the GR.3 period) reverted to the standard 'EJECTION SEAT' text, but there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rules on when.

I must admit I had thought it was too early for MDCs but close inspection of photos indicates otherwise!! Whatever the additional wording says, the top line is slightly longer than the word 'EJECTION' but with letters less than half the height, likewise the second line is the same length as 'SEAT' but again with much smaller letters.
