jean
Hi, this brings back nice memories of the first F-4 I ever built. Oh so long ago. Unlike you, I chose the RF-4C version ad loves every second of the build. I have religiously kept the Luftwaffe decals in case I find an RF-4E to build one day... No luck so far. Have a lot of fun! Romeo Alpha Yankee
Looks good Tim, I started one of these many years ago and never finished it. So you use white paint to check for seams?

theplasticsurgeon
Airbrushed topside today. RAL7012, equates to Humbrol 79 - which I've not got. Also equates to Revell 77 which I've got two tins of. Strange as the only Revell paint I ever remember buying is matt black, during a Humbrol drought. And today my airbrush has well and truly reminded me why I never buy Revell paint.
PhantomBigStu
Looking good, works out better, 77 is the correct shade whereas 79 is the bluer 7031
Parabat
Oh man, what a shame. Hope it won't take too much to rectify.
Romeo Alpha Yankee
I have only every bought 2 tins of the Revell paint and found out quickly I does not like to be easily cleaned and reacts awfully if you are using other brands with it. I also found it spayed with a 'furry' finish.
theplasticsurgeon
Onwards and upwards. Masked last night. I do like the straight lines of this scheme. And airbrushed Humbrol 155 earlier this morning. Very much easier 🙂 It's now setting in the sun, whilst I'm enjoying a cappuccino.
theplasticsurgeon
uppper surfaces de-masked. Much cursing around that central fuselage grey area, paint lifted, followed by brush repaint.
