Alriiiiiiiiiiiight, first in the Gallery.

I got “cracking on” with this, no “Yolking” :tumble:

Hasegawa’s Egg-4 Phantom ADTW 60th Anniversary.

All painted with the hairy stick and good old Humbrol enamels.

Big thanks to @PhantomBigStu for hosting and letting this beauty in the GB, and all you chaps for the egg puns along the the way.

Hello everyone this plane is F-4C 64-0852 of the 122nd TFS of the Louisiana air national guard. Painted in this camouflage for Red Flag March 1983. The whole squadron was given similarly colored camouflage, in a few random patterns. I didn't add the "C**n*ss Militia" tail logo, some of the aircraft show it eventually overpainted. So It seems even the USAF had some issues with that eventually.

Royal Navy Phantom F-4K.  Daily Mail Transatlantic Air Race 1969.

1/100 Tamiya kit

Almost exactly 100 years ago (on the 14th/15th June 1919 to be precise), Alcock and Brown became the first humans to fly non-stop across the Atlantic ocean.

In May 1969, the Daily Mail newspaper sponsored a transatlantic air race to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that first crossing.

In the race, the fastest transatlantic crossing was made by Phantom XT859 of 892 Squadron, Royal Navy.  I remember the race very clearly (I was 12 at the time), and in particular the Phantom's distinctive 'omega' fin flash.

Choosing a subject for this GB was therefore very easy for me - considerably easier in fact than getting hold of a 1/100 scale kit with which to build it!

It took me over a year, but eventually I did manage to get hold of a secondhand Tamiya 'British Phantom' kit (which includes decals for XT859).

It's interesting to note that this Phantom sits exactly half way along the timeline from Alcock & Brown's Vimy to the present day F-35.

The model was painted using Humbrol 123 enamel and then glossed with Klear.

The build thread is here.

Hello

Here is my Mc Donnell Douglas F-4E Kurnass #618 of the Israreli Defence Force in October 1973. This aircraft was shot down over the Golan Heights on October 13th and crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. Both crew were rescued. This is the 1/72 F-4F Revell kit with slated horizontal tail from a Fujimi kit. At this time this Kurnass and many others had slick wings.

McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II

3-6570, 31 TFW, Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force

21 July 1982

Flown by Lt.Col. Abbas Dowran and Capt. Mansour Kazemiyan on a mission to attack the National Conference Center in Baghdad on 21 July 1982.

While approaching Baghdad airport, the crew was surprised by an Iraqi Roland 2 SAM-site and the aircraft hit.  Capt. Kazemiyan ejected safely and was captured, but Lt.Col. Dowran flew his aircraft into the control tower.

Here's part one of my dual build, 69-0280 in the markings it wore during the begin and the end of its career in USAFE. This is how it looked as an F-4E with the 613th TFS, 401st TFW based at Torrejon AB in Spain in the early 1970's:

Hasegawa kit, with Wolfpak, Hasegawa and Microscale decals, painted with Gunze paints
