JOCKNEY
Hi John Really sorry you are unhappy with your build. From what I've seen in the pictures it looks really good. If it hasn't been confined to the recycling centre, please give it another chance. If it has, better luck with the new build Cheers Pat
John
I wanted another crack at the Yak so I managed to locate an Eastern Express boxing which, according to Scalemates, is the FROG mould: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/eastern-express-72207-fighter-yakovlev-yak-3--169509 It isn't. It's a totally different kit. Looks nice enough but it isn't the FROG mould. Here's the EE instructions: https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/5/0/9/169509-20-instructions.pdf Compare them with the Emhar ones in the first post. That's the second time this has happened to me in this GB. It's getting expensive... 😁 John

EE it's was repack.... don't remember....probably M-Hobby. This model was developed VES by order M-Hobby on base Heller with differences - inside panel line. But all wrong geometry Heller switched to this model. In fact, from Heller family Yak-3 not a real build geometry normally Yak-3, because Yak-3 From Heller have wrong section fuselage. B.R. John
I'm going to end up with more Yaks than Uncle Joe, but it's a nice kit so I'll see if I can track down another Emhar boxing. John 1

Colours are probably all wrong but sources are contradictory about Russian paint schemes. Possibly THE greatest understatement of recent times. Thankfully the armour colours seem to have been resolved so maybe aircraft soon?? Nice collection there. I know exactly where you're coming from. I have a few in the same place. Likely best to leave it aside and start again, you'll think of something useful for it later. @JOCKNEY will be a likely victim eager man to take it over 1

John
Here we go again. I've been using this kit at work to illustrate how to build a model with my school modelmaking group so I'm using even more basic tools and acrylic paints. I'm usually a dedicated enamel user. Humbrol acrylic 123 was originally a satin grey green so that's what I've used in the cockpit here: John
PeterB
Hope the wing fits a bit better on this on John!
