zebra
Hi everyone. I don’t normally venture outside the aircraft forums but I’m feeling the need to build a car for the film, fictional and speculative group build later this year. The car I want to build is a 1977 Porsche 911S. I had a look on Hannants’ site and could see a few 911 kits but none from the 70s. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Is there a suitable kit? Or is there one that could be modified without too much effort? thanks Julian
Rob G
Have a look at Fujimi's range. Exceptionally nice models. https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=Fujimi+porsche+ You may have to look around for second hand kits, or go to the Japanese shops (HLJ etc) to get a kit. No, you can't have any of mine.
Schwarz-Brot
Try the scalemates database. Not every kit on earth in there, but very many of them. This should help you narrow down for what to look. I bet one of the usual suspects did something that can be built into the car you are looking for. Aoshima, Hasegawa, Fujimi, Tamiya, Revell Germany would be the ones I'd try first. Edit: Didn't see Rob already included a link to scalemates - sorry! cmatthewbacon
Luckily the Fujimi 69 911S is back after being OOP for years. Due next month: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/10609312 If you need a post-74 “impact bumper” version, you could rob them from another kit... and I might have a spare pair, because I plan to “Singer-ise” a later car which involves back-dating the bumpers... best, M. 1
zebra
Thanks everyone, very helpful. The one I want to do has the 'impact bumper' but it looks like it's going to be doable. cheers Julian
