Seamus
Evening all, A selection of images from the Monday of this event. Wasn't really sure what the day would have in store beforehand but it was a pleasingly busy and enjoyably quiet and relaxed day at Duxford. A real privilege to be able to see so many wonderful examples of the Dak in one place Douglas C-47A Skytrain 'Miss Virginia' 43-30665 (N47E) Dynamic Aviation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3A N18121 Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain 41-18401/N150D 101st Airborne Tribute Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Lisunov Li-2 'Karman Todor' HA-LIX Goldtimer Foundation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-47B) 'Clipper Tabitha May' N33611 PDMG Flight Operations Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-47) 'Liberty' N25641 Legend Airways Foundation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-41A) N341A Golden Age Air Tours Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain 'Miss Virginia' 43-30665 (N47E) Dynamic Aviation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Lisunov Li-2 'Karman Todor' HA-LIX Goldtimer Foundation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain 'Miss Montana' N24320 Museum of Mountain Flying Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-53 Skytrooper 'D-Day Doll' 42-68830 (N45366) Commemorative Air Force Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47B Skytrain 'Betsy's Biscuit Bomber' 43-48608/N47SJ Gooney Bird Group Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 LN-WND Norwegian Dakota Association Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-47A) K-682 (OY-BPB) DC-3 Vennerne Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-47B) 'Clipper Tabitha May' N33611 PDMG Flight Operations Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain 'Virginia Ann' 43-30647 (N62CC) MIssion Boston D-Day LLC Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3A OH-LCH DC-Association Norwegian Dakota Association Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain N147DC Aces High Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain 'That's All Brother' 42-92847/N47TB Commemorative Air Force Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47A Skytrain N147DC Aces High Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-47B Skytrain 'Betsy's Biscuit Bomber' 43-48608/N47SJ Gooney Bird Group Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas C-53 Skytrooper 'Spirit of Benovia' N8336C Benovia Winery Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3C N431HM Hugo Mathys Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3 (C-47) 'Liberty' N25641 Legend Airways Foundation Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Douglas DC-3C 'Daisy' SE-CFP Flying Veterans Association Duxford 03/06/19 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Good to see the home team so busy throughout the day too... Britman
Does anybody know what happened to the massed formation of the fifth? Turned out to be a long strung out line astern flypast with about a mile between aircraft. With all the effort involved in assembling this impressive collection of gems what happened? I'm only a slightly informed observer of such things, rather than an expert, but from other forums I believe it was something to do with the various levels of Display authorization required. If the massed formation was deemed to be a display then all the pilots would need the correct paperwork. A line astern flypast is not a display and therefore does not fall foul of this rule. Like @Seamus is was there on the Monday and his pictures convey a idea of what a great day it was weather-wise and some impressive sights and sounds. janneman36
Great pics Shaun, love the light on the most of em.. At least you had a lucky break regarding the wheather! Duxford was somewhat more accessable then Caen.. Thanks for posting, Jan
Tbolt
Great set of pictures. I went on Tuesday and the lighting wasn't great and I got a bit wet!

It seems logical to me but one might have thought this would have been for seen by the organisers. Maybe a transit of groups of three and one mile spacing would have placated any official requirements. Keith
