Daks Over Duxford

Evening all,

A selection of images from the Monday of this event. Wasn't really sure what the day would have in store beforehand but it was a pleasingly busy and enjoyably quiet and relaxed day at Duxford. A real privilege to be able to see so many wonderful examples of the Dak in one place

Does anybody know what happened to the massed formation of the fifth? Turned out  to be a long strung out line astern flypast with about a mile between aircraft. With all the effort involved in assembling this impressive collection of gems what happened?

I'm only a slightly informed observer of such things, rather than an expert, but from other forums I believe it was something to do with the various levels of Display authorization required. If the massed formation was deemed to be a display then all the pilots would need the correct paperwork. A line astern flypast is not a display and therefore does not fall foul of this rule.

Like  @Seamus is was there on the Monday and his pictures convey a idea of what a great day it was weather-wise and some impressive sights and sounds.

Thank you for that Paul . It seems logical to me but one might have thought this would have been for seen by the organisers. Maybe a transit of groups of three and one mile spacing would have placated any official requirements.
