Fifteen hours and 57 minutes later they crashlanded in a bog in County Galway. having made the first transatlantic flight - eight years before Lindbergh. It was pretty hard going, especially having to repeatedly climb out on the Icy wings to chip the ice off the carb intakes while holding onto the rigging wires.
