Windy37
Visited Tractor Fest today at Newby Hall near Ripon . A huge selection of tractors , mostly old but plenty I can remember growing up and even driving in my former job as a farm worker . Also old cars and a good choice of old trucks . How trucks , and tractors , have evolved is amazing . What were then high power trucks now seem small in comparison to today’s models . Here are some pictures . Volvo F86 Look at the care and polish that’s gone onto the trailer alone ! We get 8 wheelers on the landfill with 450 HP now . The tipper sides are removable , so it could be used as a flatbed . Just imagine handballing those off ! Finally , a mighty abnormal load machine . Originally a tank transporter , this is a Rotinoff . It compares well with the Scammell I photographed at Bicester the other week . Thanks for looking , Gary.
Spiny
1 hour ago, Windy37 said: Now that's a company which takes me right back to when I was young - they were the local haulage company so used to see quite a few of their trucks on the road. Chances are I will have seen this one on the road back in the day, but given it's almost as old as me there's absolutely no recollection of it.
