Airfix Provost T4,79Sqn RAF.

Recommended Posts

Hi Folk's just scraped in on the final weekend of the Trainer's GB.Managed to build this in a couple of week's to replace the failed RAF Vampire. Now the Provost has

never really set my pulse racing as an aircraft in fact I can't remember even bothering with Airfix's original way back but I have to say this little kit is a  beauty for

seasoned modeller's to beginner's you have to have a go at it you can almost build it without glue the fit is so good, she's a tail sitter even with a big fishing weight

just aft of the cockpit so beware already on with a second now.Thank's for looking in.

Nice one Steve, looks really smart in camo.  Which colours/paints did you use?

Thank's very much Phil, Tamiya sky and medium gray mixed for the underside medium sea gray with a touch of NATO black and RAF green lightened a touch for the camo.

Steve,

Very clean and well done build! Looks like the new-tool Airfix kit is a beaut! Looks so aggressive when not in silver with the yellow bands as usually modeled. 👍

Never really appreciated them when they were in service but I've since grown to love the JP. Superb build by the way.

Lovely looking JP.   Very nice paint finish and an interesting scheme.  Always like 79's red arrow markings.  Stop me if I'm wrong but didn't they use the type to train FACs back in the day?

Yup they did.  JFACTSU was at Brawdy at the time. Joint Forward Air Controller Training and Standards Unit.

Cheers
