Iconic vehicle not availible in 1/35 scale

Hi Guys.

I was thinking of joining the D-Day group build, and remembered from a distant memory the M-16 halftrack,

I thought to myself, that it would be a nice little project, but my hopes have been dashed.  Last version available in 1/35 (preferred scale)  was a Dragon offering in 2008.

I don't know if there is another option available in 1/35  (conversion sets, etc)

 

It's a pity that a well known WW2 vehicle, is not represented in such a common scale.

Anyone know of other vehicles that are not available, but should be.

Who knows, a friendly manufacturer may be looking for future ideas.

You are forgetting the older Tamiya (in my stash) and Academy (never encountered so far) kits...

Back in April of this year, pictures were revealed of AFV Club's entry into the US half-track market.  Now some say they can only do a 1% improvement over what is already out there (Dragon).  The biggest issue I come across the Dragon kit is the use of rivets instead of slotted screw detail - if that is a deal breaker it could mean waiting some time for that perfect kit.

Re. D-Day, there are some "Funnies" not available, especially the AVRE with SBG Bridge !  (Also, a British armoured bulldozer and BARV).

 

Also a Crane lorry would be useful.

 

Likewise, lorry variants with specialist bodies, especially radio and REME.

 

(And stretching the definition of "vehicle" a bit, then LCAs and LCTs would be useful (and huge) )

Trawling the web a bit today, could not find the dragon/Tamiya kits for sale.

But there could be good news with the AFV kit.  As for 100% accuracy, definitely not a deal breaker.
