I came up a bit more since @Martian Hale has started his own Steam yacht... Just saying to myself, No !! do not start another kit !! and thinking that it will be super cool to start a ship in the same minute... So Dears ! it will a tectonic progression but there is a lot of techniques that I will try…. Enough of blabling !! Here's the beast, I read the story of that ship, I will search the 2 books I bought about her ! She still lay in french territorial waters…. Diplomaticly not … But…. There is sink marks, flashes and all the niceties of these old kits, I bought it at the beginning of the '90 The box was collecting dusts for years in an old book retailer !! Yes there was a time when one can buy a kit with the newspaper… May be sanding down these huge copper tiles… As a start... Or starting the Dahlgren…. And there's even some tiny sailors !! I will not say that I will try to behave…. Nobody will Believe it ! Comments are welcome, if anyone of you has ventured in these straits… I'll be glad to hear from Her/Him ! The last ship I've done was the HMS Wasa in 1974... I was proud of it ! One of my first painted kit !! Once finished, my mother put it in the aquarium with the tropical fish… Since they think it would be nice as a decoration !! Both the fishies died in one hour or two…. But my kit was ruined, and I better did'nt tell about my state of mind…. So let's hope that this one will find a better way !! No more aquariums at CC castle…. Sincerely. For a first, I will not try to make the lower decks and the steam machine Whatever I will do, will be no more than educated guess since there is no documents ! Of course !! In my first post I talk about Dahlgren And ?? And…. It is blakely one Indeed !! This one is special to shoot rugby ball, more effective perhaps ??? In 2017 I paid a respectfull visit to an old Lady in Porstmouth !! And I was in Baltimore harbour onthe '4th of July 1999... For the coming backhome of the restored USS Constellation.... I cannot let the gun hatch that way, I will look in the book but did'nt like it that way Recreating some thinner ones seem a "cunning plan" Now read that !! I will take some of these for SMW, But one think is Worth of note…. Did you see what I mean ?? I let you have a bit of brainstorm on this !! Then the second big bore is now called done ! Sorry CC, you've lost me on the beer label, I'm still recovering from the shock of seeing you in this part of BM. The only thing I can say about you and your beer is that you like it. I say Dahlgren and Dahlgren it seem to be, here's Captain Raphaël Semmes Now for the British part of a colonial build.... Here's Liverpool shipyards !! Now the cruise of the Lady... The CSS Alabama became a legend and created such an imaginary fear amongst the union merchant ship. That was like the "Tiger" phobia in WW II... Alabama was seen evrywhere... But she has done this... Point ! It's already an achievement given the fact that she was searched thoroughly ! Now the final battle !! And then the Lady goes down !! All this material come from a book that I bought years ago, I have the whole collection in fact ! More to come soon ! In November, I'll go to Porstmouth once again, taking pic of the steam machinery of the british cruiser preserved up there. Still in Porstmouth Aaaaand launched in 1860 !! So she will be a good template for the CSS Alabama !! Well !! Started the lower deck template ! And marked where I can open up the bridge for letting an eye access to the machines ! Erasing the ejection pins !! There are here too !! Aaaand more sink marks !! More funny facts in some days !! Here's my program for November -Night ferry wednesday -Thursday morning dash from Dover to Manston and then Porstmouth -Friday will be for Yeovilton, is this amazing ?? - Sat and Sunday are for SMW -Monday for Cosford and its reserves... -Tuesday Crispin Museum in Weston Super Mare -Wednesday..
