1/72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E7 Trop, Tamiya old tool

Recommended Posts

Greetings to all! Sometimes I like to compete with myself. Believe me, this is the best I've got from the competition. There, the judge is his own person and judges objectively))). I made this same Tamia set 8 years ago, at the end there is a photo of that old Messer.

Wow that is sensational Fuad. Colours are perfect and you have captured the deserty sun beaten worked look. Excellent as always

Excellent as usual. I want to ask: have you made any changes to the fuselage? I know the Tamiya fuselage (two of its rings) is slightly shorter than it should be.

Awesome, as usual!

If my enjoyment of the hobby were measured by the ability to reach these benchmarks, I'd have given it up long ago.

Luckily, I also enjoy seeing the incredible skills and magnificent models that appear in this forum.

Very inspiring.

I really like seeing the early build and to see the change in the technique and interpretation over the years.

Thank you for posting I find that very informative and shows how we can learn and progress ........and enjoy!

Cheers

Call me crazy, Fuad, but I think I  like your older E-7 better! It's scary how good your standards were eight years ago, too! My very favorite E-7 scheme and markings. Is that the new Tamiya G-6 I see leading the trio? Three very nice builds.

Yes, that's the G-6 model up there, and the review of this model is also on site. I used the hand-brush to paint the spots on the older model as I couldn't use the airbrush back then, but now that I could I've decided to redo the model.

I haven't done any changes and I think that the difference isn't as noticeable as people say.

Absolutely beautiful. Another work of art Fuad. I always enjoy your new builds. What did you use for the aerial wiring?

I've used this wiring for it.

It`s not so visible when the painting scheme helps. For example when the white or yellow band is narrow or passes from one ring to another. Yours is a good example in this sense and all the details you`ve put into it(rivets, weathering) also help. It`s more annoying when the identification fuselage band is meant to cover that whole second to last ring. That`s because Tamiya didn`t just make the whole fuselage shorter, but made two rings that were meant to be wider narrower. ICM`s Bf 109E which is very similar to Tamiya`s :D has corrected this. Here`s a comparison of the two (not my photo) showing the wider ICM bands (top fuselage half):

Unfortuantely, ICM`s kit has a range of its own problems and does not build as easy as its Tamiya brother. Anyway, I`m basically trying to make peace with using the Tamiya kit without alterations because it`s a wonderful kit to construct and the fact that you`e chosen to keep it like this and seeing your result helps me in that direction. :)

One thing I just saw was the swastikas on the tail look a bit odd.

Are they the kit decals?

Not a criticism just wondering if they're accurate or maybe there's too much white?

There is nothing strange in this swastika. So it was taken on the planes of the African theater of operations.
