The first of my 'strange marking' Spitfires from the Eduard 1/72 'Longest Day Combo'.

This one ML214 of 214 Sqdn. that was painted with 9" stripes over the serials:

The second of my 'strange marking' Spitfires from the Eduard 1/72 'Longest Day Combo'.

This one MK892 of 222 Sqdn. that had the regulation 18" stripes painted over the serials which were then 'reinstated':

My half hearted attempt at a 268 squadron Hawker Typhoon FR1B from AROUND end of July 44 (could't find any pics with full/partial invasion stripes so gone for none).  THought it would be fun (and cheap!) to buy a "built" kit then disassemble it.  Hhhmmmm - that didn't work out! 🤣  MOST of the original kit parts were usable but MLG and front canopy had to be replaced.

Decals from the spares box (so serial is totally wrong - but it IS from another typhoon ;) ).  THe pics I found online show no squadron codes (the sky "S" is most likely the wrong colour at least but I had nothing any more suitable).

Painted (badly!) with tamiya acrylics.

Not even in the same sport let alone same league of the other builds in the gallery but just to make myself feel better here you go for a laugh....

422nd Night Fighter Squadron P61 Black Widow "Husslin Hussy"

Built from the good old monogram kit.  TBH I made a lot of problems for myself with the way I decided to build it and the clear parts don;t really fit too well but overall I'm pleased with it (again as with the typhoon different league to the other builds).

Painted with tamiya acrylics.  The top colour in the instructions called for olive drab but looking at photos I think I should have gone for something more sandy as per:

p61a

However, it's done now....
