Does anyone know yet if the underwing pylons on the F-104A/C kit are perpendicular to the underside of the wing rather than perpendicular to the ground as on the F-104G?

Your photo illustrates the underwing pylon configuration of the F-104A but does the new Kinetic kit have that pylon configuration? I attempted to find instructions for the new kit at Scalemates.com but they don't have them yet.

the underwing pylons are on runner C and thus exactly the same as on the previous kits. The instructions also show the tanks as perpendicular to the ground, not the wings...

On the plus side: new short inboard fins are included for the tip tanks.

For me at least it's not a big issue either way. Most of the pictures I can find of F-104As show them without the underwing tanks/pylons fitted and even if I wanted to fit them I can't see altering the angle of the pylon being all that difficult to do?

I'm not a 1/48th guy, but this CF-104 looks so good I'll be giving it a go as soon as that kit starts shipping. I suppose I should learn how to use some metal effect paints before it gets here.

I love how Kinetic (and FineMolds) keep releasing new boxings and versions of a recent kit, I wish other manufacturers would follow this example.

And they include aftermarket, so high quality, decals!

Good to know, I was hoping to use this kit to build an earlier B in other markings.

Ah, that would have been nice, wouldn't it? The only early B/D canopy I currently have is a vac piece from the RVHP resin conversion kit. And it has a bubble/flat spot in it... :(

Of course C-1 seats would be needed though.

(...) For May, we have another Limited Edition kit coming. This will be the F-104C in 1:48th, another in the line of Starfighters, of which we have released a few to date. In this case, however, we have changed the supplier of the plastic and this Vietnam War version will hail from Kinetic. (...)

I thought I would point out that the TF-104 alternative fuselage in the kit is for a TF-104G.  I have the kit, was it just me that expected an early, small finned TF-104

Then it would have been marked F-104B/D.

As I hoped it was Andre.  But it is marked F-104A/TF-104 why not avoid confusion and put F-104A/TF-104G (2 in 1) so there is no confusion of what's in the box.
