Cougar F9F-8 control surface colours

Am doing a Grumman Cougar in the Light Gull Grey over white scheme and have noticed some differences in the top side colours of the controls surfaces. Some machines seem to have white spoilers on the wings and some also have all white horizontal stabilisers. Was wondering if there is any logic as to when these areas should be painted white or not? Was it mandated after a certain date or for certain BuNos?

Hi,

Wasn't there decals for an nice yellowstriped Cougar with the Hasegawa box?

 

I also have an F9F-8 stalled because the different white surface differences...

I don't like this version Cougar.

Therefore, I believe that I have no decals on the Cougar at all.

I see,

I've got the BT19 kit with an grey and white F9F-8 from VF-43 with black and yellow stripes on nose, fin and wingtips.

This kit also has decals for an blue aircraft from VF-61 with yellow (?) stripes.

After scouring the Naval Fighters book I decided on a VF-94 machine with a white striped red tail and red wingtips.

 

I have the old Microscale sheet 72207 which has a tartan tailed VA-46 machine on it - if you would like it PM me.

I like something about F-8H VFP-63 with  red stripes, white stars and shark teeth (ESCI decal version) or F-14A VF-111 or F4D  Skyray  "Blue Nemesis" (yes, as Tamiya version) or Revell FJ-4 Fury with bird....maybe someone  says, "This is trivial and vulgar!," I don't know, I like that!

And yes I like "shark teeth", but not all.  Some "shark teeth" it's really vulgar.

Unfortunately on combat Cougar (VF, VA) no was "shark teeth"

This my criterion.

Therefore, offer your versions ... Decals are not problematic printed now, although for me, problems are getting them, but it's my personal problems not You.

Long time ago I'm search this decal....but then I looked at it in detail and realized that I did not like these version...

Yes, I do not want the squadron to repeat itself, Yes I want NAVY (

an exception F3D Skyknight- Marines)

, Yes I only like combat, Yes I like grey, to a lesser degree blue, and absolutely not like silver on Naval fighter...
