Svedberg
Very nice! Blending it in with the a real background and sky makes adds a lot of depth and makes the scene even more realistic.

Macki
Hi John, thanks - that's an issue with Photobucket, changed to another host. Now they should be in focus again Cheers Macki

I love your use of depth of field to create storyline and action. I second what others have also said about blending in the background. Very fun!

It reminds me of the time I drove a Fox car into an old MG trench at 35mph. Gosh, that hurt! An excellent diorama. I didn't notice the scale until after viewing all the photos. so I've had to raise the 'excellent' to an 'incredibly awesome!' Did you buy or make the trees in the photo above, and if you made them, where did you get/how did you make the leaves? The pollard willow trees are made by MBR, here is the link: MBR. All other trees are homemade. Some pictures and a map of the original Oosterbeek church in the background and how it looks recently: Kerkpad Oosterbeek Cheers an happy weekend Macki 1
Badder
Thanks for the map and photos. They will come in very handy for when I plan the assualt on Oosterbeek! I have a time machine, you know? Kind regards, Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel.😋 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Seriously though, it's fascinating to see a period map and photos. Truly, one of the most important roles the world wide web has to play is recording the past and the present for future generations. We are lucky that it came about just before all these little pieces of history rotted, rusted, or were thrown away. And now your dio is part of that too. A fine tribute. And thanks for the info on the trees. I shall have a look for them on line (just to see how they are made) Rearguards Badder 1
maudesman
Just noticed this dio! Being a ex Gunner...... Looks fantastic, how a gun position would have looked. Caught the atmosphere of a fire mission in motion!...... Brill Maudesman Edited November 2, 2019 by maudesman
Macki
Thanks Badder and maudesman! Badder, i agree, The internet is a great source for information about historical stuff! This diorama is almost fictional, because there is so less evidence of the original. Most of it is imagination, how it may could have been. I am very proud, that a gunner, like maudesman, calls it realistic! If someone has more information about the airborne RA in WW2 or related stuff, please let me know! Thanks again and cheers Macki P.S. excuse my bad English
OutcastJoel
Beautiful bit of work there! It feels like you are actually in the field, the sense of the wide open landscape is amazing!
