corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I'll ask about the right hue of green for modern british tanks or armoured vehicles. What is the best Humbroll ref to achieve an accurate british tank ? I thank you beforehand. Sincerely. CC
ivan-o
That is a million dollar question and you will get a good few differences of opinion 😀 Personally I use Hataka British IRR green, I have also used a mix of Model Air olive drab, interior green in a 50/50 mix. good luck 😀 Ivan
Kingsman
It also depends how new or freshly painted you want it to look. The matt IRR green quickly looks scruffy and faded. I notice that many of the vehicles recently repainted from desert colours seem to have a satin finish and the colour looks a little greener and darker than the IRR green, but that may just be the effect of the satin finish.
Kiwidave4
Not sure how modern you are going. I have used Humbrol 86 on Fuchs and Chally 1 which looks OK to me. On my Chieftain Mk11 I used Humbrol 116 under 33 disruptive.  The colours change so much in service that anything close as a starter will work with a bit of weathering to soften it.  2
Graeme
I always reply to this question that for a Chieftain during the 70's-80;, Tamiya Field Grey is the best match for faded IRR Green
