Sturmovik
I began building Airfix's 1:48 Canberra today, and I found the cockpit doesn't drop fit into place, I have to make some pressure in order for it to fit. The lack of locating tabs for it doesn't help either. The fuselage halves are perfectly straight too, since they meet perfectly. I think this is caused because the cockpit bulkheads are too large, can someone else back me up on this one? Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions apart from pressing and holding in place? Thanks! Edited May 27, 2019 by Sturmovik
canberra kid
Hi @Sturmovik, that something I've never had an issue with on the Airfix B.2/6 admittedly it's not the best of parts for locating but I've just done a test fit on my latest incarnation of the kit and apart from a bit of warping on the cockpit floor all appears to be ok? Did you fit the nose wheel bay first? This is a good reference point for everything else to fit around. B.2 build and B.6 Hybrid John
Antti_K
Hello Sturmovik, Like John I didn't have any serious fit problems with the kit. The rear bulkhead was slightly too big so a little sanding was required. Kind Regards, Antti 1
Welkin
I would agree with John - fit the nose wheel bay first and everything should follow from there. 1
