Mr T
I had designed up for a Hotspur build ages ago, but not on list. Do you still want one?

Thanks for your query @Mr T. In order to make the above build list all I ask is that you start your very own Build thread. Once I see a new entry, I’ll add you on. It’s too difficult for me to go back through all the pages in the ‘Chat’ section so when you get the chance, start a new Hotspur build and it’ll all be sorted shortly there after. Cheers.. PhoenixII
Morning Dave, (currently 21:48 here) you may have a distant memory of the discussion about the FROG Mitsubishi Rufe, issued or not? I thought I had one but then thought I'd sold it......WRONG! Found her earlier today, but this one's a Revell issue, checked on Scalemates and there she is.......so....... I'll start a build thread with F333 (NOVO) FD2 then another with either the Rufe (F???) or the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley (F207) Just to give you something to do, of course! 3
Rabbit Leader
Welcome to F-Day @PhoenixII, (well we've got D-Day in a few days, so why not Frog Day?) Another FD2 would be excellent, it's such a beautiful aircraft that it deserves to be built in multiple numbers. A Whitley is a Frog GB 'must have'. We currently don't have one, so this fits in perfectly here. Good news about the Rufe. Looks like it was allocated F234 but was never released. Excuse the poor quality photo below, however this is the written passage about this kit from the 'Frog' Bible. Cheers and thanks.. PeterB
Dave, Probably won't beat the 157 on the Airfix Build of last year, but it certainly shows how many of us have, like me, fond memories of Frog, and also just how many of the original kits are still around, let alone the "Eastern Bloc"/Revell spawn. And no, I am not going to enter any more, although I do have an Ar234 and several others in my stash! Pete
AMB
There are still good FROG kits of the Miles Magister and Percival Proctor around, plus NOVO issues at bargain prices, so can't understand why these types are re-kitted by Czech companies around £30 a pop? Are they really sooo much better and worth that?

I have to agree with you Adrian, I know Frog's Gloster E.28/39 is a bit of a pig (and I will prove that during my build), however the prices that some of these new tools are asking for is downright insane IMO. Still, there will always be modellers who will fork out the money, so manufacturers will charge whatever they need to in order to recoup their investment. Thankfully some of these old Frog moulds are relatively easy to come by. 10 hours ago, PeterB said: Dave, Probably won't beat the 157 on the Airfix Build of last year, but it certainly shows how many of us have, like me, fond memories of Frog, and also just how many of the original kits are still around, let alone the "Eastern Bloc"/Revell spawn. Dave Cheeky Dave, Wonder if anybody is going to build the He219? It is quite a nice kit but I am not sure that the Revell one is actually a rebox or one of their own which I think Scalemates suggests. Just noticed that besides complaining it is not accurate Cocardes also say Revell seem to alternate between their own mould and the Frog one so that is going to cause problems deciding if or it can go in this build or not! Rabbit Leader
Thanks to @Mr T's latest Hotspur Glider build, the updated Frog GB tally looks like this - Build Tally Total Builds = 78 / Total Subjects = 62 / Gallery Entries = 0 / Completion Ratio = 0.0% It seems like the new entries have dried up a bit, which is to be expected now that we've all made a great start and everyone is busily bashing together their Frog kits. As always, new entries and multiples of kits already mentioned above are always welcome. There's still a heap of time to go so why not dust off those old crusty Frog boxes and jump on board. Cheers.. Dave p.s - If I've missed someones build, please accept my sincere apologies. Drop me a quick line and I'll see to it asap.
Rabbit Leader
Well, we've not only reached the 80 kit build mark, we also have our first completed kit in the GB Gallery. Well done @TonyW , @vppelt68 & @Heather Kay for your latest submissions. Build Tally Total Builds = 81 / Total Subjects = 64 / Gallery Entries = 1 / Completion Ratio = 1.23 % Cheers.. I should do Pat, however if I run out there's always that pool of blood I'm collecting after cutting myself each time I hack away at one of these Frog kits!! Now saying that @TonyW has been kind and diligent enough to add a second kit to this GB's Gallery - his pristine and beautifully finished P-47 Thunderbolt which dates back to 1959. Build Tally Total Builds = 81 / Total Subjects = 64 / Gallery Entries = 2 / Completion Ratio = 2.5 % Well done Tony and here's to a productive modelling weekend to everyone else. Cheers.. Rabbit Leader
In a blink of an eye, another three excellent kits have popped up in the GB Gallery. Let's all applaud @TonyW, @AdrianMF and @Ray S for their latest completions. This just gives the rest of us that additional motivation to get on with things before we all 'Croak' it - sorry bad Frog pun there! Cheers.. Rabbit Leader
Congratulations to @TonyW for another classic Frog kit completion and galley entry. Your P-40 looks great. We also become @Muddyf to this GB with the addition of an Aussie Beaufighter Mk.21... this one ticks plenty of boxes for me. Latest stats below. Mjwomack
What was the total Frog catalogue? It would be fascinating to see a build/catalogue ratio. Given a smaller catalogue than Airfix, I'd think a very high ratio is possible (yeah!)

Given a smaller catalogue than Airfix, I'd think a very high ratio is possible (yeah!) That’s not a bad question however it might be a little tricky to answer. Frog issued a number of Hasegawa and Heller aircraft kits under their own name. In addition to this a number of their cars and possibly ships were also made elsewhere, so do we add these to Frogs back catalogue? - hard to say. When / if I get the chance, I might do a countback on just the ‘pure’ Frog moulds to see where we stand. I do agree that if we concentrate this on the more popular aircraft kits from the 60’s and 70’s we might get close to nudging this overall tally. Now that would be something! Cheers.. Mjwomack
It seems a rule of the universe that a good question is a tricky question! but it would be a fascinating one to know the answer to. And for the Completists amongst us, so satisfying Thanks

Rabbit Leader
Another Galley entry from @TonyW which means the build tally now looks something like this - Build Tally Total Builds = 82 / Total Subjects = 65 / Gallery Entries = 7 / Completion Ratio = 8.5 % If we are talking percentages, might I add that Tony has now completed 57% of the current Gallery entries!! Rabbit Leader
We've seen three more new kit additions since the last update. Once again @TonyW has chimed in with a new (old) kit, this time it's Frog's version of the Tempest Mk.V. Can't wait to see one paired up with the V1 - nice idea mate. Two established BM members have also decided that this GB is looking like a bit of fun, so let's all welcome @Romeo Alpha Yankee & @825 with two of Fairey Aviations classic aircraft, the Gannet and Firefly. Build Tally Total Builds = 85 / Total Subjects = 68 / Gallery Entries = 7 / Completion Ratio = 8.2 % Cheers and keep em coming! .. Dave ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- edit.... and they are still coming! Thanks to @825 we have our third Blackburn Shark and a new kit, this time the Hawker Sea Hawk. This GB has all the hallmarks of another great show. Rabbit Leader
Another three Frog GB editions thanks to @TonyW (Corsair, Spitfire XIV) and @Paul821 with the awesome Vickers Vimy kit. I think the tally sits at 90, however I really need to do a count back as I suspect I may have missed something.
