Jokes  appart, I am interested in your   habilities and sources of info. Trying myself to do a Percival Prentice in 1/72 but without any clues. No kits of that plane in my neighborhood.

In fact, those were the "Casitas de Chocolate", in Yerba Buena. A proto-gated community, when nobody even thought of the concept. We even had a swimming pool. It was paradise (then). I was friends with the Paez de la Torre (Emilio and Manuel).

The mountain is San Javier, I used to fly in the lands of the University Reserve.

You are wright then. Not Cadillal but Horco  Molle perhaps. I was about +/- 6 y.o. at that time, but remember  those houses. I was born in Tucumán but live in Cordoba since 90.

That’s why your P. Proctor is a source of inspiration to me. I have seen Dujin’s Prentice on the Net but unable to get one. Thinking about scratchbuilding one, may  be several  pieces  of a Proctor  could be useable in such  a project.

The Prentice is a  bigger aircraft all round and the shapes are different. It has a wingspan approaching that of a Hurricane and the tailplane is a different shape and  much bigger. One of the reasons I suspect kits are thin on the ground is that it's service life was quite short as it had a number of short comings and once out of service its poor reputation meant relatively few ended up in civil hands.

Hi Moa, that is looking very tidy. I hope you won't mind if I suggest that your turquoise might be a little too turquoisy. My memory of the colour of ZK-AVW gels pretty mush with this color photo of her, as being a deeper kind of sky shade, something like Vallejo Model colour pastel green. Looking at the earlier black & white photos in the thread from Key publishing, I'm not seeing too much difference in shade other than the first one which appears to have been taken with some sort of filter going by the flag on the tail, some more photos in this thread from Wings over NZ forums, G-AHWW/ZK-AVW starts about 1/2-2/3 down the page. By the time I knew her she had the same green on the wings as well, a shame because I like the silver wings & that is as I'll do her one day.

Hi Steve

I have been researching this one for long, so I am aware of all those sources and images. In any case, your contribution is appreciated.

Since the plane was repainted and had some changes in appearance during is new reg life in New Zealand -as I commented before above- I chose to follow previous input on Percival aircraft presented by John, following the cover of the book he posted.

Remember I am depicting the plane on its ferry flight with the British regs. Not in its later life in New Zealand.

If you look at the images above you will see three paint containers, one is green, I tried it mixing a bit and was not convinced at all.

Of course, other modelers are kindly invited to apply their colors of choice on their models.

On the malignity of small parts:
We all know how tricky, sneaky and positively cheeky-monkey those very little bits are.
Days ago they performed on me one of their very best yet. After having looked long and wide for what I believed was a part that jumped into a parallel universe (or snatched -yet again- by the Martian's teleporting machine or mercilessly impacted by the Death Ray of my dear friend and Ebil Genius Sönke Schulz or Volkania), I realized that the said minute, teeny tiny, concentrated lump of wickedness was on the edge of the lens of my magnifier:

 

Needless to say by the time I found out I had replaced the missing part.

Beware: now they are not only capable of hiding, or jumping extraordinarily long distances, they can fly!

I believe the scientific term is styrenekinesis! There is also a  corollary in the Laws of Modeling that states that the distance a scratchbuilt part travels from the builder is inversely proportional to the size of the part! (I will go and sit quietly in the corner now until the feeling passes.)
