Geoffry M
Recently built the Monogram 1/48 Mosquito as the B MK IV using the kit decals. The instructions say it was brown and green so that is how I painted it. Looking at pics on the web I don't see any mosquitos painted brown/green, all gray and green. Too late for me now but it has been bugging me. Was the mosquito ever brown and green? tia Geoff M
Work In Progress
A very few early ones were Dark Green / Dark Earth over Sky undersides - the standard RAF day bomber scheme of the time. But only a very few. https://forum.keypublishing.com/forum/historic-aviation/41509-mosquito-camouflage-question https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/livery-of-dh-mosquito-t219176.html Some others later on were painted Dark Green / Dark Earth over Night undersides with high fuselage demarcation lines - the standard RAF night bomber scheme of the time. Grey and green camouflage was more common: but there were many other Mosquito schemes too - including all yellow, all blue, all black, all painted aluminium, Extra Dark Sea Grey over Sky, and additional disruptive-pattern camo schemes to the ones I've mentioned.
