James G
Hi all - not sure if this is the right sub-forum but here goes.... I am building the 1/72 Zvezda Hind, and the other day went to dip the clear parts in a bath of Johnsons Klear (as I do on all models), but instead of covering the parts uniformly like it normally does, it beaded up into large drops on the surface. I've never had this happen before. I even tried again with some washing-up liquid in with the Klear to break the surface tension, but it didn't work. The clear parts on this kit seem to be made of a bendy, vinyl-type material. Might it be an issue with this particular kit? Or maybe that the Klear I have is quite old now? If anyone has encountered a similar problem in the past and found an effective solution, I would love to know! Thanks.
stevehnz
Did you wash the canopy in either detergent & warm water or IPA/meths to get any mold release off it. That might have contributed to your woes. Steve. Edited May 24, 2019 by stevehnz
