notflip
Is there an easy to use putty for beginners you guys can recommend? I have a few gaps in my Spitfire wings that need filling. Thanks!
Smithy
Get hold of some basic Tamiya putty which every model shop has. Here's a great little tip for say filling a wing fuselage join. Get some masking tape and mask either side of the gap. Get your putty and apply it to the gap using something like a toothpick. Now the magic part, get a bottle of nail polish remover which contains acetone (this is very important), get a cotton-bud/Q tip and dip it in the nail polish remover, now wipe it over the filler on the gap. The nail polish remover will remove the excess filler and smooth the remaining filler perfectly into the gap. Remove the masking tape. Very often the nail polish remover will do such a good job at levelling the filler into the gap smoothly that you don't need to do any tidying up. Thanks for the tip, I'll order some putty online first, nail polisher should be in the bathroom somewhere! Thankjs
