Given the Crusader was known as "The Last Gunfighter" I'm sure you're on to a winner there ;)

The pointy bit options are Matra R.530s or Sidewinders, air-to-air missiles both. Looks like I’m in.

That opens up more options for your chosen operator ;)

I've got an Airfix kit that contains the word 'Interceptor'  in the title...  can I ?

Or is this GB restricted to real aircraft rather than Gerry Anderson creations ?  :)

Interceptors, fighters, or equipment used to shoot down air and space craft in films and books are fine for this one so your Angel Interceptor is most welcome Ian.

Was going to go old school and build an Aeroclub Lightning F6, but having just checked the contents just found the canopy has gone Yellow.

Don't suppose anyone has a spare canopy lying about?

D

72nd or 48th scale?

I assume a Nakajima KI87 - ii described on Wikipedia as "a Japanese high-altitude fighter-interceptor of World War II" would be an acceptable group build entry? It arrived in the post last week :) If so, count me in :)

You are duly counted in Richard. Nice subject choice :)

Since my Aeroclub Lightning Canopy is no use, I'm going to build Classic Airframes Vampire NF10 instead.

D

Which reminds me I have a box to search out of the stash for you and check... Although the Vampire is also a fine choice.

Hi,

I would like to join this GB with either a Monogram 1/8 Delta Dagger or Delta Dart....or maybe both!

Thank you!

Don

Two good choices there Don and I'm sure @Enzo Matrixwill approve of that plan :)

I have dug my Kora Vickers 432 kit out and lo and behold the wooden fuselage plug that I turned down 25 years ago was in the box. The kit one looks much better but at least it shows willing ! (About that time I tried making a Saro Princess in 1/72 in fibreglass from a femail mould I made - but that didn't survive my emigration back to UK from Canada)

I have a lot of group builds on the plate right now as well as a 1/1 scale four bedroom house to decorate so I am glad this build isn't starting too soon.

I believe SHADO (from Gerry Anderson's semi-pornographic UFO series) had an interceptor too. I remember having a very small plastic kit of one that came in a cereal box. I think it was only an inch long.

This was perfectly acceptable in the 1970s !

Undeniable symbolism !!

Has to be something there if not several somethings :)

So I do have a question would a BE12 or a Sopwith Comic or for that matter a Supermarine Nighthawk qualify as interceptors? All three were developed/designed solely to shoot down Zeppelin’s if so then I have three much more interesting candidates :)

All of those options also qualify. Although if Enzo sees your photos and list you'll be in trouble

Probably some of the earliest examples of pure interceptors.

Oh....   and now you've shown 'em, you have to build 'em!   :wicked:

Hello people and good afternoon

I finally chose, it will be a 1/48 scale F-94c Starfire from Kitty Hawk.

A tough kit that will test me on the metallic coloring ......... let's see what messes I can make
