Tomy 1.32nd Mercedes Benz 300SL

Recommended Posts

Tomy's brief interest in 1.32nd scale produced a handful of amazing kits and this was one of them.

It came with PE and wire parts and the window frames were beautifully chrome plated, something I've never seen elsewhere.

I've added minimal detail to the engine bay but otherwise it's box stock.

Never heard of Tomy, but seems like a good model.  Here's one in 1/1 scale for comparison.  It was the Mercedes-Benz Standwagen at the 1956 New York International Automobile Show. I've had it since 1971.

Absolutely stunning - that's a wonderful paintjob!

Have to admit that I've not heard of Tomy 1/32 cars before, that's a good looking model.

Nice work!

Thanks a lot JeroenS and keefr22, much appreciated.

That looks utterly brilliant! It’s always been one of my “grail kits”, and you’ve whetted my appetite even further! That one could pass for a Tamiya 1/24th build...

Very well done indeed!

best,

M.

Thanks a lot Matthew, I've very much admired the 1.32nd models you've been posting too. The kit is a bit hard to come by these days. It was re-released under the Hasegawa label not too long ago but even they can be expensive.
