corsaircorp
Hello Dears, It's me again… Putting a bit of pressure on my friend @Christer A 2 finished in 2 days…. Well almost !! Arctic cock yes but bathed in the sun of Nevada for instance !! I Always loved Arctic markings !! And I will have a NORAD serie, here's the first attendant !! Lockheed F-94C Starfire #13548 from the 29th Fighter interception Squadron based at Malmstrom ( Great falls) To say that the kit is a pig is an understatement !! When I first opened the box, I say Oooooh Shiny !! then at the second look, I've been a bit less enthusiast !! Painted here with Tamiya red and alclad ! Flory and oïl paint for the light weathering first thing to complain about is the orange skin plastic !! prepare yourself for A LOT OF sanding and micromeshing !! Then the adjustments are at least a complete nightmare !! The instruction booklet lead you into some mistakes… 🤬 39
corsaircorp
But all in all, I'm a bit satisfied... My metallic rendering is not yet as good as I want it to be but !! A pic of the real thing, taken at Air to Air Rocketry competition '56 at Yuma AB !! See that the red is a bit worned out ! Now my friend @Biggles87 can see her finished … At least !! I was about to try this but... It was hard enough for me and my poor skills !! One day May be !! Now, I'm satisfied with my burned metal effect !! Well Thank you all, Hope that she is appreciated !! I'm open to comments ! No I did'nt put the awful thing that is trying to look like a wiper !! And as she was too Advanced when I signed up in BM, there is no WiP for her Sorry about that !! Thank for watching and have a great modelling time !! CC

Christer A
Finishing a kit is bad for your health, or so I've heard! Starting a new One and consign three to the shelf of doom makes you loose 10kg directly! (I did however finish a Arii Daihatsu Midget in just under 2hours last friday though, does it count?) I like that Starfire CC! Really nice work!
Biggles87
Wow, that's a very striking finish CC, and I think you won the fight with the kit! I 'm planning to start ( but not necessarily finish) some jets this year, starting with the F-86 so perhaps I will have another look at my Starfire too. Well done. Wez
Well done CC, I have a strange penchant for the early Cold War jets and you've done the Starfire proud here! Which kit is this? From the looks of it I'm guessing the 1/48th Kitty Hawk, also, where are the decals from? There's not that much aftermarket out there for these birds. 1 hour ago, Christer A said: Starting a new One and consign three to the shelf of doom makes you loose 10kg directly! Alan P
That's such an attractive aircraft in that scheme! Very nicely rendered. I can't imagine firing off a salvo of rockets did much for the pilot's night vision 😂 Alan Edited May 16, 2019 by Alan P
Head in the clouds.
That is as close to silk I have seen from a soars ear and you should be justifiably proud of ending up with a fine looking build. Maybe the rocket pack next time....eh!

Silver Fox
Great work on a tricky kit, I had such high hopes of Kittyhawk after this was issued, they could only get better I thought. How wrong was I.

I agree about getting a bit less fat in my case ! The kit is the KH one and the decals came from Caracal models #CD48017 Otherwise, I just Added oxygen hoses and better looking seat belts And SAC undercarriage Oh and should I forget ?? A LOT of putty !! 23 hours ago, Alan P said: That's such an attractive aircraft in that scheme! Very nicely rendered. So they used "ripples" firing, Then, it degraded the saturation of fire 🤔 And so on…. Ah the good ideas of the '50..... Do you hear about "Ding Dong" ?? The Genie rocket ??? 23 hours ago, Head in the clouds. said: That is as close to silk I have seen from a soars ear and you should be justifiably proud of ending up with a fine looking build. Good subjects and they look good in the end, so I'm with Dr Grant on that one 😄 Alan

I havn't made any progress yet because of an eye problem! but should be OK in a week or so. Sky Keg
This is superb!!!!! To take a poor kit and embark on a natural metal finish and have it turn out this way is a testament to your skills. I, like everyone else, am duly impressed!!!!!

I still have 3 to do, one for my Korean war serie of course. Did you have tried the wingtip tanks from the Monogram F-80 ? I saved a pair of Misawa ones for my sharkmouthed F-94. I can look if I got a pair for you since I still have 2 or 3 F/P-80 Sincerely. CC
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Its the Hobbycraft "A" type that im bringing up to "B" standards for a NACA/NASA research jet. I already have the Misawa tanks, sadly i need the Fletcher type from T-33's. I've had this post looking for a set for a couple of weeks now ? https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235054364-lf-148th-hobbycraftacademy-t-33f-94-fletcher-style-wing-tanks/ I don't think i will get lucky, so looks like i will have to build the plane without tanks ? In the end i may destroy my T-33 to get them. However i really doubt i will ? Dennis
