C-17A Globemaster III ANIGRAND 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I started to do the model at the beginning of 2016. Due to my personal reasons I gave it up for many months. I realize that this is workshop department and what I’m going to do is a monoloque, but I didn’t know where to present it.

I spent a lot of time over a model and I think I’m only halfway there. Maybe someone will interest what I have done so far as I haven’t found any rewarding information in web about construction report of this model.

If I return to work on this model I’ll post pictures from time to time.

I have tried to choose the most interesting so far and there are still quite a lot of them.

There are two sets of “Anigrand” available on the market: a resin and a copy of the resin "wacu" Combat Models with exactly the same errors

I suppose “Anigrand” was used as a form.

The most important modifications are:

Too bulky and bad shapes front

Badly plased and with bad shapes windows

Badly placed wings, all to much forward

Bad AOA wings, bad shapes and dimentions

Correction of the hull cross section

Correction of the wings

Bad shapes of pylons and engines

Bed arrangement of shin hassis

Bed shape of vertical balancer

No cockpit

No hold

The model has full lighting (with separation of light colours)

It also requires dimensioning and embedding in correct places but the appearance resembles C-17.

I had to make some assumptions about the plans because in practice there are no plans, and even there are, they have mistakes. Even Boeing made some sketches which are incorrect.

Scaled planes that I used for dimensioning I have found in Model Book form 1999, all the rest are pictures.

The model C-17 no 006 from 315 AW that I’m doing everyday is stationed in Charleston (South Carolina)

Good God.

I built the Combat vac a few years ago and thought I had my work cut out, but this is in a different class.

Absolutely mind blowing! Can’t wait to see more.

Wow this is off the charts. Tom Probert mentioned his C-17 and that was magnificent. But this takes that piece of art even further. I mean this is truly excellent modeling with

extreme attention to detail...thanks for sharing.

All the Best!

The amount of work spent on correcting and detailing is truly impressive. The painting is also very nice.

I would have gone nuts with duplicating all these seats in the cargo :christmas:

How did you do the cargo floor ? It looks like you made your own PE.

This is the second i encountered of this beast, and thought the other guy did a great job, but it isn't on par with this... superb work...

Words fail me at this point- my head is still spinning after looking at all the WIP photos you posted; the wing flaps, interior, and engine nacelles defy description! You are a modeler, sir, definitely not an assembler! Incredible workmanship and attention to detail. At the same time, very disappointing to see how far off the Anigrand kit is from the real thing- but sadly, not uncommon for one their releases! Can't wait to see the RFI photos!

expect the same from yours @Romeo Alpha Yankee!!

Hardly, time to chuck mine and wait for the Kinetic kit I think.

Such masterful work there podciech, I have been working on mine for 10 years and have not done half the things you have done with yours.

Thanks very much for sharing!

Simply an awesome build!

If I had one it would now be heading for the rubbish bin after seeing that.

Not sure that the words 'awesome', 'masterful', 'exceptional', 'fantastic', 'superb', 'work of art', 'incredible', 'impressive', 'brilliant', 'unbelievable', a-ma-zing', 'magnificent', 'mind blowing', actually give credit to the quality of this build!

Best I can come up with begins with F, contains two words and the second word ends with L!

Is there any Anigrand resin actually left?

Yes, that'll be the dust on the workbench !!!!

Seriously though, what a display of pure modelling artistry.

Words fail me.

Where does one find a set of those plans?

Must be getting jaded, not had many 'wow' moments after 12 years frequenting these forums, but this was a mahoosive one.

Impressive doesn't really cut it. Astonishing work, my jaw dropped further as I scrolled down the page! (Scraping it off the floor right now!)

....simply out-of-this-world skills! Polish modellers are the best in the world, I see many many truly amazing builds by Poles. but this tops them all. Hat off to you.

Thank you very much to everyone.

Jak zrobiłeś podłogę bagażową? Wygląda na to, że zrobiłeś swój własny PE.

The floor is made of 0.5 mm hips. I put on it cut strips of sandpaper 1200. Wire clamps 0.25mm

Gdzie można znaleźć zestaw tych planów?

Plans can be found in the model magazine "MODELARZ " from 1999

Czy jest jakaś żywica Anigrand?

Tony, I'm sorry but the translator does not explain well and I do not understand the questions.
