The old matter of sky/duck egg blue/whatever else... 🙈

I certainly would(will) , if that's the only way to "unstraighten" them...

I know, crazy right.  Yup seems to be the only way? Madness again.

Nice and steady there mate.

Lovely rivets sir, can I have a few spare ones?

Like the idea on the canopy Johnny.

Have a great time.

Simon.

Thanks Simon. 🙌

Nice way to put rivets back on!

For Sky I decided to avoid headaches, I use either Tamiya XF21 or Gunze H74 (lighter than Tam).

Thanks. I did similar on my 1/24 Messerschmitt. I only have Tamiya so I might lighten it a little in the centre of the panels.

Doesn't that little peg on the rudder allow it to move? I thought that was its purpose. If it doesn't, off with it!

Ian

That’s what I thought but no. It just sticks right into the mating half at a right angle and stays there. 😫

Hi Johnny.
I read your wip in one go, great job done so far.
You made me want to buy one from me too .... I'm still eating my hands for selling my mk1 with the fabric wings by  Pacific Coast in 1:32 scale.
I will follow you with interest

Cheers

The rest of today’s fiddle sticks consisted of.

Sticking the last few surfaces.

48619808453_92cc69bb80_b.jpg

lots of clampage. 😱

Also lots of seams to fix before the big paint.

48626967397_2f975ef8d8_b.jpg 48626973312_9e76067a02_b.jpg

not too bad really. Some ppp and a light sand should do the trick.

48626821766_1f9e48cc50_b.jpg

looks fixed. I’ll try some primer when the bottom section gets added.

48626821036_db9c2ebb25_b.jpg

sorted. 😇 and the nose ones.

48626472543_345ffe0c8b_b.jpg

Ok seams done. I had a blast at re fitting the lower wings.

48626976182_aea8d3b4d8_b.jpg

and noticed that you will be able to see the back plate of the wheel well through the open engine compartment. Glad I noticed that after I had painted just the insides. 🤨

So with that said here is the first coat of silver.

48626833351_c6fcc3d111_b.jpg 48626484958_9d55f6be04_b.jpg

Then a post shade of Tamiya smoke.

48626829396_001d6c4973_b.jpg

The other side and outer walls were brush painted as I’d cleaned my air brush.

48626479518_1949576a62_b.jpg

When dry this got varnished and left to dry. The canopy needs fitting so I painted the inside and did a Flory wash and varnished. Ready for mask peeling in this shot.

48626484923_8cd2cf341b_b.jpg

And peeled.

48626980477_3135b6695a_b.jpg

nice! At last I can glue it on. I’ll add the little aiming thing later. No worries. 😇

Here she is glued with gators grip.

48626480268_486d8b5ca7_b.jpg

I think a little ppp but a lot better than I feared. 🧐

48626975367_5db79aea2a_b.jpg

All seems well positioned and the front lines up well.

48626484283_e7753e445b_b.jpg

While that was going on the other stuff had dried off and a Flory wash was added. Twenty minutes later I could wipe away and add some extra wires and such.

the rear looks ok for through the engine bay.

48626969012_3532f948a9_b.jpg

And the actual main well looks good to me too. 🤗

48626822381_c76be819c8_b.jpg

And the other angle.

48626826866_72b024217d_b.jpg

Just noticed that the wire doesn’t go where I have put it at the rear so I’ll fix that up before fitting. 🤪

Just before I finished up for the night I added the intake.

48626826421_2e41a80da3_b.jpg

Should this have a mesh cover? Or was that only a Mk 2?

Any way I cleaned up the internal wheel bay sections and primed ready for the second well section.

48626474803_f6c2679eab_b.jpg

you forget how big this thing is sometimes.😳

Anyhoo thanks for popping in, again. I’m really needing to get to BIG paint now. I can taste it in the air. I’m away with the boy from Thursday so I’m not sure how much will get done but I’m hoping for a button up of sorts. 🤗

Take care y’all and as always. Happy

Outstanding progress so far Johnny. Looking forward to your continued work. I am stealing your pictures to use for my P-51D and Spitfire MK1 when I can get to them. Far too many projects ahead of those.

In the theatrical profession it's considered a bringer of bad luck to refer to Macbeth by name.  A common formula is 'The Scottish Play.'

Thanks Joseph !!

Fully aware, we are now waiting for the hot potatoes and nose pinching !!

Thanks for all the banter while I’m away.

myself and the boy are currently camping in mid wales. Look.

but just before I went I took a few more pics so I can ponder my next moves.

This was the canopy after glue had dried.

48637849558_763bd37b85_b.jpg

Pretty good really but I felt I needed to fill the gappage due to ref shots. So PPP.

Dry fit of  the wheel Wells.

48638342932_47afb228f3_b.jpg

Not bad.

48637849683_dc41cd3044_b.jpg

and the pipe in the right direction.

also the aiming thingy got micro meshed and mask olled. Then primed.

48649122901_0f6484bc53_b.jpg

Fingers crossed on that one.

That’s it I’m afraid until I get back.

I did get some more hidden gems from the closing down sale at Ian Allen.

48638201086_6a906e9d4e_b.jpg

three new new kits from new makers. All new to me Mini art/ Zvezda and Roden. They all look ace, especially the Ball tank. 😍😍. Thanks for popping in. See you when I get back.

Had to look that up I'm afraid.  I've managed to see all of three Blackadder episodes in my entire life, clearly not those ones!

Righteous work on the Hurricane.  I've this kit myself, so I'm following this thread with interest.

...

As long as those three weren't all from the first series... I'd go with Beer, Duel and Duality and Corporal Punishment. Baa!us.

As always, the Hurricane coming into existence looks wizard prang!
