Doris Day has died

I always enjoyed her movies. I find it hard to believe that her last movie was in 1968.

One of the first films that my Mum took me to see was Calamity Jane, starring Doris Day. One of those rare Hollywood ladies who could actually sing and act. A classy lady.

Started life as a dancer - then switched to being a singer with big bands and then on into movies. What a career.

Always loved her singing... such a nice voice. One of my favourites was Move Over Darling.

My first record was her "Deadwood Stage" c/w "Secret Love", both from Calamity Jane, on 78, remember them ??

Think she had the same effect on many pre-pubescent boys as Kev shared.......[#4].

She cut her singing "teeth" fronting big bands, Dorsey and the like. Average singers didn't last long in those environments. R.I.P.
