bob123
Hi all, Looking for some advice please to light up a kit fire engine I'm building at present. Looking to put some led/smd lighting on it. Anyone know the correct led/smd number that will go into/on a 1/24 scale kit please
mbdesignart
Depends on which lights you want to illuminate, e.g., light bar, headlamps, hazards etc. Therese links may be of help. I recall there is a fire engine build on the forum that had led's try a search https://www.tirydiummodels.co.uk https://www.smallscalelights.co.uk/category/dolls-house-lighting-1-48th-1-144th-scale
JeroenS
Just search the forum for "Schlingmann”, there are a few builds of fire trucks with lights.
Madmonk
SMD LEDs come in a number of sizes but the most common are: 1206 - 3.2 x 1.5 x 1.1mm 0805 - 2.0 x 1.25 x 0.8mm 0603 - 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8mm 0402 - 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.45mm The big issue with these is getting wires attached to them! I use 0.1mm enamelled wire on the 0402 and 0603 and 30AWG on the 0805 and 1206. For 1/24 head light you want to be looking at 0402 or 0603 beacons can probably be done with 0805, indicators would be 0402. Cheers,
