The one and only Dan or Propeller, whatever you prefer.

Now, I can agree with that!

thank you very much gentlemen for your very, very kind words.

I'm honored, really.

Today, not completed, dry fitted, front axle in situ...

When some pieces looks easy to make, be careful, may be they are not! It's the case for these pieces:

Thanks again...

Hi Roy,

No positive mould! Dapping punch and annealed 0,3 mm brass... with a good hammer!

And usually I use my vise as a press, not here of course. For the two shells of the rear axle

by exemplar.

Next? Brakes, drums brakes, links and other tie-rods... Tinny pieces!

This is absolutely great and admirable work.
To brass ... it is necessary to anneal the brass you use and the annealing temperature before molding. It happened to me that the brass alpha series 42 ... cracked in sharper quarries. I think it's a bad gas burner annealing procedure - uneven temperature. Thanks for the info :) Renek

Thank you very much gentlemen!

As usual, much appreciated and very motivating.

Around the front axle, after painting, with no pain, for the moment!

From one paintaphobe to another... nice job, mate.

It looks like you've used the Metaux Noir. Have you dry-brushed, or steel pigmented to finish??

Cheers, H

ps. Beautiful brass-work, too, btw!

Hi gentlemen!

Thank you "Moa". Are you french? Because "Moa" in french is the deformation _or slang_ of "moi", me in english...

You have to pronounce: "MoooooA". Funny isn't?

Well, today brakes linkages. No very easy to show you this mechanism.

Hope you understand...

First, the core of this system, the central traverse:

To the front:

And to the rear...

In front to the hand brake, on the right,  the rod to the brake pedal:

In fact, there is two tubes, one inside for the front brakes, the other for rear brakes!

Are you still there?

Ok, the coupling mechanism front/rear...

An now, parts:

And sorry Harvey, but I can't do that with... a spoon! (joke)

That’s the thing. You show it to us as if it is all easy, however it is not. Getting at this stage must have taken already a lot of hours.

I love what you are doing, Dan and I fully agree with the comments Roy made on your model building abilities.

Brake linkage system looks pretty much the same as on the Delage, which means I’ll probably take a peak in this topic when I’ll reach that stage myself.

Once more your results look incredibly good. What craftsmanship!

Hi gentlemen! Still alive...

Back to the workbench after a summer break, as usual.

The come back is , as usual too, not very easy it's well known!

First, the chassis in the real colour:

Front axle is now mostly completed, with brakes lines only shock absorbers are missing but you will see they are coming.

190921050635307464.jpg

Rear axle completed!

190921050639597919.jpg

With shock absorbers.

190921050645129719.jpg

Friction shock absorbers, a nightmare.

How to? More easier with a mill...

That all folks!

Thanks for your kind words, and for watching,

Dan.
