Spiny
The lack of Minis and Metros in your photos of the Mini and Metro show does rather sum up BL reliability

Having owned a Metro as my second car I struggle to see the appeal of one as a classic car, still it takes all sorts... As for carburettors @keefr22 and @MR2Don today I did see a Mk.III Mini Cooper S with an 8-port head and four Amal carburettors.

Looked like it was part way through restoration as it was patchy with black paint and grey primer. Regards, Steve I saw a D-reg Capri today - coming towards me, so didn't have time to take it in. Sunday, a navy blue TR6 near the Fosse Way, as well as a rally style Triumph 2500(?) - white with a black bonnet, lights, decals etc. Later today, an F-reg '67/68 BSA. Don't ask me which model, I'm not good on bikes. Edit - 99% sure this was the Triumph I saw: Edited September 8, 2020 by Six97s
johnlambert
Two classic MGs today; a Y-type open tourer, very unusual and rare (just over 800 made, compared with thousands of the TC, TD and TF sports cars); all of which pale in comparison with the other MG, a white MGB roadster on rostyle wheels (about half a million MGBs made).
Black Knight
I spotted . . . . and heard, one of these today at the McD. Personalised number plate on it. I had no camera with me so a 'stock' photo
Pete in Lincs
Yet another Minivan today. (Is it the breeding season?). This one was just North of Lincoln and pretty much Tamiya dark yellow. I didn't catch the year but it had a spare wheel bolted to the back door, so I'll know it if I see it again.

He was in a band, and he used it to lug his gear around. (Cool uncle. In a band!) He had fitted an anti-theft device that when activated (mechanically, I assume then) caused the door handles to hang down vertically all "limp-like" I remember it being the standard Mini Green. Cheers, Alan....

Brings back a lot of happy memories because my first car was a dark green Chevette 4-door , SMB242V . A really nice little car in sad need of a decent engine & gearbox in place of the appalling old Viva engine - with the SOHC 1300 or 1600 from the mk 2 Cavalier it would have been superb . As it was , I was told by competition engine builder Dave Brooks that I wasn't constitutionally suited to Chevette ownership as I expected more from it than it had any hope of giving . Mate had one, oh thirty odd years ago, in that strange matt green that marked it as probably ex forces. The inability of the battery to hold charge for longer than we spent in the pub caused it to be known as the "Vauxhall Shove-It". Which I suspect was not an original joke even at the time.

johnlambert
Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, modified which is a shame as I thought the Cosworth looked quite good in standard form.
fatfingers
Today out Whitby way a Merc convertable which may have been a 450 or 500SL and a late1970's early 80's two door Opel coupe type thing in gold metallic paint. May have been a Manta but it didn't look sporty enough. Regards, Steve
klubman01
This morning, at Cambridge Services on the A14, a red, V reg Ford Capri 3.0S. Absolutely immaculate, and sounded nice as well. A bit later, as I drove past Duxford, a Hawker Hurricane being flown in a very spirited manner!
keefr22
Honda CR-X Del Sol, in red and absolutely slammed on the ground, on wheels that were no more than 13 inch and might have been smaller - it looked like a go-kart and I'm surprised it could get over a small stone in the road let alone a speed bump! I couldn't makeup my mind if it looked cool or ridiculous - but the kid driving it looked happy, so I guess that's all that matters...!! Keith I think I've seen Monzas in gold, white and a metallic dark grey; I think gold was quite fashionable at the time on lots of cars as metallic paint was usually an extra cost option.

johnlambert
A trip to the gym this morning was rewarded with a sighting of a Rover of late 1930s or 1940s vintage. It drove past so I couldn't get a close look but it had the rather attractive sports saloon bodywork rather than the more upright standard saloon style and was painted a very fetching two-tone green colour scheme.
rs2man
There must be a classic car show round here today . So far , I've seen a Triumph TR6 in Pimento Red wearing Minilites , a late 60s/early 70s BMW 4 door saloon in white , a Jag XK140 DHC in dark blue , a bright red Mk1 Toyota Celica , a BRG Morgan , a 1970s Mini Clubman in a disgusting shade of dog poo brown , a red Series 1 E-Type Jag , a Diamond White Mk2 Escort Harrier & a burgundy Morris Minor Traveller . All looked to be in very good condition . Edited September 12, 2020 by rs2man Added another spot

Fnick
Blast from the past (couldn't resist...) In my local pub car park. Owner very kindly allowed me to take a couple of pics. He was a bit annoyed though. Kept muttering something about car charging points not delivering 2.1GWatts... Cheers, Nick 5

johnlambert
Travelling from my parents' home in Kent back to my home around the M25 and up the M40 on a nice day usually guarantees a few nice classics and today didn't disappoint. One was a Citroen DS21, in burgundy with a silver or white roof; appropriate given that one of my recent kit purchases was a DS21 and a couple of people suggested burgundy as a colour choice. There were a few drift or track prepared 1990s Nissan Skylines, including one four-door, on trailers. The above were on the M25, on the M40 there was a Rover P5 3 litre saloon, which seemed unusual as P5B 3.5 litres seem more common now.
