Two things: I'm going to steal the LEGO brick idea, as it's ingenious and clever; your work is superb, beautiful!

Steel away, John - that's what I did in the first place, can't even remember where I saw that   and thanks for the praise

Which side of that lump of rock did you ski down?

Great work on the undercarriage hydraulic lines and the sensors.

John

That is the Saslong, home of the Ski World Cup Downhill famous race. I skied down that slope 4 times during the WE, amazing and a lot of fun. If I'm not mistaken, it's the one you see on the right of the Saslong itself

And thank you for your comment

That first pic in your post is lovely G, really cheered up a damp and gloomy Monday morning here. And the jet is alright I suppose.... (just kidding, she's looking just as lovely in a different way! :) )

K

Glad I contributed to cheer you up, Keith   Thanks for the comment, too - she's completed now. see below

Looks very nice G.

I have got to remind myself that`s 1/72.

Good to see that you got back from your skiing intact.

Simon.

I keep remembering it's 1/72, Simon - no doubt about that! :frantic:  Thanks for your comment

I know I take the mick out of jets, but she is looking very elegant. As ever your work is crisp a detailed, very nice!

Rob

Thanks Rob, much appreciated  And I learned a new English expression too :D ("Take the mick out", that is  )

This is looking really good Giorgio. As it comes together, the detail just builds towards the whole in a most impressive manner.

Steve.

And I'm glad to report I finally reached that whole, Steve - thanks for the praise

As I mentioned, I'm calling this completed! But let's see how I got there, to wit the last few steps in this build:

first off, I wanted to test fit the canopy before adding any other protruding bit

canopy32

canopy33

canopy34

Not too bad, I suppose; so I set off to complete the underside, by completing the paint job on the nose sensors

sensors2

gluing the outboard pylons and the Sparrows

finishing1

I managed to knock off one of the flaperons, as you can see :banghead: No big deal, though.

Painting and weathering the wheels

wheels1

wheels2

And here are all the underside thingies glued in place

finishing4

including actuator arms for the U/C bay doors

finishing5

finishing6

and the tiny little bl..dy sensors :frantic:

finishing7

Time to go back to the top side; APU exhaust painted (with Tamiya Gun Metal, by brush) and glued in place with Gator's Grip

finishing2

finishing3

The seat was eventually glued in

finishing8

as well as the control stick

finishing9

And finally, the canards and the canopy

finishing10

finishing11

finishing12

finishing13

finishing14

finishing15

Propre RFI pics to follow in due course; meanwhile, thank you all for following, commenting, cheering up and contributing to this thread.

All comments welcome, as ever

I keep remembering it's 1/27,

1/27? The thing's huge - you've been kidding us on all along G !!  🤣

Seriously that is yet another marvellous Giorgio build - really cracking Tiffie!

I do hope the pilot's OK though after landing upside down on that lump of rock: :)

Fantastic work Giorgio, she looks great.

Question for this layman. Looking at the image of the front undercarriage and it's bay, I can't help but notice that when the door is closed, it will leave a hole at the rear or am I nissing something?

Brilliant Giorgio, I can't believe you made the old Revell kit turn out like that!

The gap is there in real life, Stuart. Of course I didn't find out until I had carefully filled the one on my build.

Really beautiful work Giorgio. Those canards are the icing on the cake. Top stuff. I’m quite sad this is over it’s been a pleasure to watch.

Thank you. 🙌

John.

Thanks Johnny! I'm actually quite glad it's over! It's been quite a fight with this kit, even without considering the self inflicted punishment caused by the scratch-building/aftermarkets/improvements... :D

All in all it came out not too bad, I suppose.

The Typhoon is fabulous.

What’s next, the Sagittario?  🤞

AW

Thanks AW   The Sagittario is enticing, isn't it? But I don't feel like it just yet, sorry  :)  On top of it, I need to do more research before I tackle that build - not easy, because it was built in very small numbers.

What's next, then? If I remember properly, the general consensus was for the EE Lightning, right? :D

But which of the proposed schemes?

Lightning

I do have a preference, but what do you guys think?
