We're not there yet, Uncle Bill :D  Few more things painting-wise need to be done first. Stay tuned

Have you done exhaust cans then as I believe I read that Revell cans were wrong?

Stuart

Stuart, the exhaust cans are surely over-simplified, but I don't recall having read anything about them being incorrect. Any chances you might remember something more?

TIA

I thought that it was something to do that they are not fully open for the ground and are in 'reheat', something like that. I think it got mentioned in a ' Modern Era' discussion thread on Typhoon kits.

Couldn't find anything, but mine was admittedly a very quick search. Thanks anyway :thumbsup2: From the reference pics I have, the shape of the exhausts at rest seems good, although oversimplified, as I said. It will require some inventive in the paint job .... :frantic:

I have to say the AMI uses a very nice shade of grey as far as greys go. That's looking great Giorgio.

Thanks Cookie, glad you like her

Giorgio, I should've remembered this:

:D Thanks Stuart. I read it and the exhaust issue is with the HASEGAWA kit, that only provides the in-flight version. :phew: :D

Nice jacket! Even nicer masking. Those wells look splendid. Just catching up after a busy week myself. 🥳🙌🙌👌 great stuff happening here. Bravo.

Johnny

Thanks Johnny!  Had a pretty busy week myself, plus last WE I was off with the family on a small trip. Not totally modelling unrelated though, 'cause I had the chance of visiting an aviation museum near Rimini. Quite some good things to see there, and I also sat into a MIG21 two seater cockpit

Narrow front view, is it? :frantic:

MIG21_COCKPIT1

That was actually just the front fuselage, not the entire airframe

MIG21_COCKPIT4

Anyway, a bit done during this WE: the U/C bays got some detail painting and a black tempera wash to make details pop out

Then I started masking for the metallic parts

and airbrushed a coat of Tamiya Gloss Aluminium (the rattle can stuff, decanted for airbrush use)

This will have to cure thoroughly and properly before I do any more masking

That's it for tonight, I hope everybody who attended to Telford had a great time :)

All comments welcome, as usual

PS ran out of post-it notes did you?

:rofl2: Not quite, I just select the masking media according to how easily and quickly I can cover the areas to be protected - and metallic pigment is so fine that I wanted a really seal-tight masking here :D

Pilota di Carabinieri?

Cop al di sopra delle nuvole?

I think the steely eyed look makes the first one more appropriate.

    OK, that would actually be "Il Carabiniere Pilota" or "Poliziotto sopra le nuvole", but none of them sound really appealing in Italian, believe me guys :D Probably better something like "L'investigatore volante" :D
