Henschel Hs 123 A-1 early - Legion Condor - GASPATCH MODELS 1/48 - walkaround

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi guys,

This is my 3rd Hs 123 in a row (and probably the last one...). It took me just 4 months, partly due to the experience I gained from the other two builds. The WIP is here :

But  you can also have a look at my first build here, that is more extensively presented :

Enjoy.

Another excellent build. You should do the one with all the writing on it. You are making me want to start my one. But I must get my current builds done first.

A masterpiece, plain and simple. Excellent photography, showing it off to best advantage as well. Impressed!

Kind regards,

A great looking scheme on a neat plane, wonderfully executed by you. What's there not to like?

Very tasty !

Sometime Hs -123 has those massive strust painted in strange style  - outsides are light blue, insides are in top side camo colur(s).

How it was with Spanish machines? Are there photos documenting light blue (BW photos, so light anyway...)  both sides?

Hi J-W,

No, there is no photographic evidence that the spanish machines had their wing struts painted in anything else rather than RLM65.

A great model:clap2:I like this.

But 24o5 had white tips of the lower wings, top and bottom. The upper wing also.

Hi Piotr,

What you wrote is correct. However, it refers to the period when the machines were flown by Spanish pilots. Before that, Henschels flown by German pilots did not have their wingtips painted white.

Hi :) It is possible that You are right, but You have some photos to confirm this thesis?

Yes of course there are several photographs. You may have a look at one of them in my WIP thread :

Ok, You're right, but it's the only 24o5 photo that does not show the white ends of the wing. It is possible that this is a question of retouching the photo. Which was typical for this period. It's an interesting thing :)
