Reini78
#11/2019 My dad keeps going with his "captured" theme, this time a British 190. Tamiya kit with Rising Decals, True Details resin wheels, EZ Line for the antenna wire, Tamiya XF-81 and 82 for the upper RAF camo. Build thread here https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235052547-under-new-management148-focke-wulf-fw190a-3-raf/ On June 23th 1942, Oberleutnant Armin Faber from III./JG2 accidentally landed his aircraft at the RAF airfield Pembrey in South Wales. The aircraft then was tested and compared to the Spitfire. In September 1943 the aircraft was struck off charge. The wing underwent an endurance test, the fuselage was shot at and the engine was sent away for evaluation. Roman Schilhart
Another neat model, Reini! Please forgive me when I say: these colors don't suit that lady.
MarcNewitt
I heard a while back that there was an 'Agressor Squadron' of sorts based at RAF Duxford which consisted of an array of captured beasts. Anyone on here know if this rumour be true or not? I know Boscombe tested the captured stuff but wondered whether there was a red air contingent in the RAF during the war. Lovely example of the butcher in RAF scheme. I had the Airfix 1/48 109 in RAF markings but gave it away.......... now I'm sad. Marc
stevehnz
1426 flight based at RAF Collyweston, not so much an aggressor unit as familiarisation with enemy aircraft. Steve. 2
