paul1234
Hello everyone I am soon to undertake my next project of building the Minicraft kit of the Titanic and was looking for some advice of how best to paint the yellow line which separates the white and black sections on the hull. My fear is being able to keep the line at an equally width down the length of the hull, my thoughts are to use Tamiya flexi tape of the correct width if available sandwiched between masking tape, removing the flexi tape after so giving me a perfect line of the correct width, does this sound good ? Also I intend to clear coat the line before painting it to stop any bleed through. Be grateful for any other ideas if anyone has any. Thank youb
Selwyn
1.Spray the areas of the hull that you want the band colour to appear, freehand. 2.When dry use tape of the correct width over this paint. when you are happy with the position and width of this tape spray OVER the tape in the band colour to seal the masking tape. 3.Paint the white and black sections of the hull. 4.When all dry peel off the masking tape and the line " Should" be OK! Barry M
Sorry I don’t understand that? Then there will be a space under the existing tape that also needs painting? Edited June 20, 2019 by Barry M
Courageous
Hi Barry, it's as @Selwyn says. The space under the tape will already be the line colour as you had already done it in step 1. Stuart
