Greetings

Been waiting to see one pop up on here but it hasn't happened yet - So here's mine.

I'd made a start on it a long while back but only got as far as taking the main pieces off the trees and infilling the windows to do the "MATS" version before I put it back in the box and back on the shelf...

Trust this is within the 25% rule?

Hopefully get on with further work soon.

Nice one @Bonhoff.

I'm supposed to be making some Lockheed Twins on here, but I've been sidetracked by an ancient Revell Connie.

From when they made them to a scale to fit the box size. 1958 I think

I think it's around 1.125 scale.

"Primitive" is a good way to sum it up!

So your kit looks quite advanced in comparison 😊

So I'm looking forward to seeing how this comes along.

Hi All,

Sorry for not updating things but I've been beavering away at lunchtimes on the Connie - I have neglected to take many pictures along the way though. Sorry.

In this photo, most of the airframe has been put together already. I elected to put a bit more weight in the nose than Revell specified just in case and then the next thing I knew it was all together.

The fit hasn't been too bad with only a bit of tippex used for filler along the way.

Almost ready for priming and paint now.

Now that the weather has settled down, as well as having entered that phase known as "Why did I think it'd be a good idea to rig an Airfix BE2c?," I've finally had a chance to paint the Connie at the far end of the works car park...

Nothing too complicated - Just a quick blow over in primer from a rattle can followed by two coats of Humbrol 11 Silver, also from a can.

I sometimes find Humbrol cans to be a bit of a disappointment but really rather pleased with the finish this time.

I'll progress it further next week.

Not sure why I haven't spotted this before, I've one of these put aside to do in the colours of a Canairelief, ex Nord Air Super Connie on the Biafran mercy air lift. Its nice to know they go together OK, that might just bump it up the list some. This one is looking good.  :)

Hi @Bonhoff,

All OK with the MATS Connie....?

Just checked the Group Gallery in case you'd taken a shortcut.

You gonna make it with this old girl?

I for one am looking forward to seeing the finished plane in all her glory!

I got my box scale TWA 1049G finished (in the end) flaps down and all
