Airfix Buccaneer S2B, 16 Sqn, RAF

Recommended Posts

Just as Airfix announce the new Buccaneer kit, I finish the old kit in 16 Sqn colours, based at RAF Laarbruch.

Bit of a dog of a kit, took lots of filling and finally just gave up when it started to look like a Buccaneer.

Lovely job there!

I love the Buccaneers shape and having heard of the trials of the old Arifix kit, I am awaiting the long promised Tanmodel 1/48 but great to see such a nice job done.

Having seen what a great job you have done with the old Airfix Buccaneer, I can't wait to see what you do with one of the new ones (when it comes) - really nice work.

That's a lovely looking Buccaneer and has to be one of the best out there.

I agree that the starting point was not the best kit in the world, but what a result.

We just need a Phantom and a Lightning to complete a classic Cold War quintet.

Wow- very nice Buc! I would say the effort was well worth the final result. What a handsome beast!

excellent result, especially from THAT kit :) . I well remember the 16Sqn Buccs at Laarbruch flying extremely low passes.

Well done.  Not the easiest of kits but you've turned out a great result.

Reminds me of this, my favourite photo from Laarbruch (OK it is a XV Sqn Bucc but close enough :) )

Could be a good one for the new Airfix Buccaneer, Air Graphics do the practice bombs.

My thoughts exactly, although the new one isn't due until September apparently 😕

With rotated bomb bay - very cool lo-level shot.

Love your Cold War British stuff. Line up the Jag, Tornado, this, and anything else, and let's enjoy.
