HL-10 Posted April 24, 2019 Share Posted April 24, 2019 My next "studio scale " project is possibly my all time favourite vehicle from a Gerry Anderson series is the SPV from Captain Scarlet & the Mysterons. The kit is from Studio 2 Models and the main body is in resin backed with fibre glass. The rest of the parts, including the wheels, are cast in resin. The SPV is 55cm long. This is the raw body. I quickly cut out one of the doors, a must do as the sliding door and rear facing seats are a must build. I also opened up the windows, and head lights. The body had the panel lines engraved. Looking through old annuals, The Haynes manual, internet and watching as many episodes that feature the SPV I have pieced together what the interior is like, and this is my interpretation: More to come! Mike Posted May 12, 2019 Share Posted May 12, 2019 You'll have to make a mechanism to fling that door open so fast that the Cap'n gets hurled out of his seat and under the couch every time. The glue gave up on my diecast's figure, and that used to happen a lot. It might go at least some way to explain his missing legs, thinking about it. HL-10 Posted May 15, 2019 Author Share Posted May 15, 2019 Rear panel details. resin copies of most of the original greeblies are included with the kit. The track is provided as straight runs, but are easily made pliable with a dunk in hot water. The grey tubing is made from sprue, no need to bend as I used corners. Other parts are from plastic card, brass tubing, and some bits from the spares box. I was toying with the idea of making the tracks hinge down, as per the Dinky version, but in the end I just fixed them in place.
