Tramatoa
As those of you have been following my ramblings over in the Cold War section will know I found myself stuck in the Czech Republic for a couple of days last week. On the second day I spent the afternoon at Jobair’s maintenance facility at Ostrava Airport waiting for my flight out and came across what I was informed is a Turbolet L-410 UVP tucked away in a corner of the hangar. This seems to be used for apprentice training and is marked up accordingly, although it still carries its original scheme and markings. I asked if anyone objected to me taking photos and was told to help myself so I spent a very enjoyable half hour inspecting the exterior. Sadly I didn’t get inside but maybe next time? Models of this aircraft seem quite rare but I hope you find the photos of interest and someone will get some inspiration from them. Skodadriver
Lots of great detail there particularly for anyone building the A Model or Eastern Express kits. Can I suggest you contact @Julien who is the Walkaround co-ordinator. I'm sure he'd be very happy to have these pics in Aircraft Walkarounds. Tramatoa
Long day, sorry. Normal levels of service restored. I have been very lucky over the last year or so to find myself working in some very obscure places and to come across some interesting aircraft. If anyone gets as much pleasure out of seeing them as I have then I’m only too happy to share. Maybe next Christmas I’ll even get to the AN2 dumped on the far side of the airfield at Roveniemi which escaped me in December 😉. Nikolay Polyakov
What a great pictures, @Tramatoa! I flew the L-410 when I was a kid, we sat with my dad on the starboard side, right behind the cockpit. The cockpit was opened and I watched the crew at work!
